I want it to happen simply because i'm sick to death of going in the Brit forum and having everyone hype up Burns when he hasn't beaten anybody. I'm British btw.

No-one? Try Roman Martinez, almost universally recognised as #1 in the division when Burns beat him, Katsidis, still far from being nobody when Burns beat him, he was also the underdog in both of these fights. Even Mitchel was coming off a win against Murray in what was seen as a 50/50 fight.

You go too far the other way.

Burns needs to do everything he can to make this fight. He was already accused of ducking Broner at sfw after a date on HBO, and the fight was all but made.

What's it gonna look like now, if he doesn't make it happen?

Burns will probably pursue Derry Matthews instead. "The fans demand it".

I was saving judgement til I saw Broner at LW but now I'd bet the house that Burns wouldn't last 6 rounds, he has nothing to keep Broner off him and Broner realises you can't hurt him he takes it to you. I see him brutalizing Burns but I hope the fight pops off next before Broner moves up to JWW

On what basis? Stopping Nicky Cook after being tooled for three rounds?

Granted the Katsidis victory was a good one, but against a faded opponent who had been brutalised in his last two meaningful bouts. Ricky's opponents have been pretty average on the whole.

On the grounds that he was recognised as #1.
