Who you guys got at 130? :good I was rewatching Mayweather/Chavez today and wondered how Broner would have faired against him Adrien Broner 24(20)-0 This content is protected vs Jesus Chavez 44(30)-8 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWeLfdO8P54[/ame]
For a second, I thought you were asking about Julio Cesar Chavez, in which case I would have responded "Chavez by TKO, why is this even a question?" However, given it's Jesus Chavez, it's a better question. I don't think a close decision or late stoppage either way is out of the question. Some judges might favor Chavez's aggression and workrate, others might favor Broner's big, flashy counter shots. My guess is Broner SD. He doesn't have the same lateral movement as Floyd does, and doesn't have as good a jab either. He's more flat-footed and sits down on his punches more, though. I think Chavez outlands and outworks him, but Broner's big shots eventually snag a close, controversial decision.
I think Broner can last; but Chavez has an aggression and inside game he's never seen before, and he tends to back up often without having the maturity in the pocket to cope. Broner may be more accurate with his power punches but I don't think he has the volume or ring generalship to avoid getting outworked. I think Chavez takes a decision.
Boner had problems with De Leon he would have nightmares with Chavez who would be on his ass the entire fight, Boner tries to do the same thing Floyd did but hes not good enough Chavez would push him to the ropes time after time stick his head in Boner's chest smothering Boner's shots while going to work on his body arms ,head anywhere he could hit him, Boner gets to see the final bell cause Chavez even though he was relentless and threw so many punches he wasnt a big puncher but his workrate and pressure tactics are enough to earn him a clear decision win.
This is the type of matchup I want to see in order to crown Boner. The pressure fighters he took on the past couldn't stand up to his power. I want to see if he can take on a guy with this type of pressure who can keep coming without wilting. Lara had to do something similar in his last fight and passed. The opponent wasn't the best though.
****ing hell that is a hard one to call i think brokers wide stance would help him drill chavez with uppercuts however it would also reduce his mobility against the onrushing punch output beast that is chavez. that would be a great fight
Ha ha , this is a good thread, I was about to start shouting the roof down , but its Jesus Chavez and not JCC. Still my poll opinion would be the same outcome , Chavez by knockout.
