Broner vs. Hatton @ 140. A trip to Checkhooksville?

If Fernando Quintero can trouble Broner, I'm pretty sure Hatton wouldn't have any trouble at all.

 

Broner is improving with every fight and has yet to hit his prime.

 

It's not clear at all. People are going overboard by picking style over substance. It's not how good you look, it's who you beat. It's fine to predict Broner will prove to be better, but you can't say he is already given his competition.

 

Joe was better than all of these fighters and had better natural ability.

Good for him. Point still stands, if Quintero can trouble Broner, Hatton would have no problem. If Broner steps up the competition, fighting top tier fighters that will, obviously change. Most specifically, let's see how he does against Matthysse. That's a good test for him to see if he's a legit top P4P fighter.

 

If Broner was an European fighter, everyone here would be salivating over him. He has flaws, but he is as complete an offensive fighter as there is today and he's only 23.

People here go nuts for Carl Froch but hate on younger, more talented fighters who will help take boxing into the next generation.

all 3 were picked by americans to be better than joe calzaghe on what they might achieve...obviously he himself dealt with the p4p mini mike tyson lacy myth the other two did what they did, racked up losses between them.

the point im making is people on here are saying what broner 'might' achieve and are ranking him 6th on this basis...not on what he has achieved. what hes achieved so far doesnt rank him in the top 20. calzaghe after the same amount of fights had a better ko ratio and a win over eubank....why was calzaghe not top 20 but broner 6 having a worse ko ratio and not beaten anyone of note? amrican bias thats why.

pavlik, dawson, lacy all got ranked highly in the p4p on what they ''might'' achieve...what happened to them? history repeats itself.

 

Broner destroys Hatton with ease. Hatton was never much better than Rees to begin with if at all. Two almost identical fighters.

 

Lacy was garbage and I picked Joe to annihilate him.

Pavlik was never hyped and worked for everything he got. He was the anti-Taylor.

P4P, as it was originally intended, means 'all things being equal, who wins?'.

Career achievements were not meant to be the "be all, end all".

 

so why is broner 6 after 25 fights and his biggest win is....well nobody.

but calzaghe with a bigger ko ratio and a win over eubank and reid at the same stage in his career wasnt even in the top 20?

Did anyone actually see Floyd at lightweight , he is way way way better than Broner.

Also remember the more you move up the bigger the target you become.

Being a Hatton fan I have a slight bias , but I dont think Broner is elite yet and I wouldnt mention he name with one of the top 140lbs yet.

 

all we know is Broner has never fought a World Class fighter so Ricky would be a massive step up for him.

Broner has yet to fight at 140 yet some morons are picking him over a proven champion like Hatton who was a monster at 140.

Lets wait until Broner fights at 140 shall we nut huggers.
