He's been thinking about retirement for a while now. He himself has said it-he just does it now for the good paydays but he would like to get out. Like he said at 32 you don't go to training camp thinking this is gonna be fun but rather oh man the next 2-3 months are gonna suck.
Hes been saying that since the Juan Diaz fight and im guessing Broner won't keep the WBA strap and move back down somewhere so maybe he can fight for it against someone like Maidana or Guerrero?
I don't think Maidana would be a good fight for Paulie...I think he wold have him in all sorts of trouble
I think paulie would beat guerrero, even now. Might be a good comeback fight for guerrero and a last chancer for paulie.
Paulie has had a decent career, beat some good names, fought great fighters, won titles in two different weights, made good money,I think he should try get one more big fight and then retire and work for showtime..
Paulie is a great guy but he shouldnt have given in to Broners childish behaviour during the whole build up and after the fight,he brought himself down to Broners level imo he should have just kept his mouth shut and smiled a la Floyd Mayweather in the Guerrero pre fight. In an any case I think he put on a decent performance, the commentary was absolute garbage throughout the fight considering Paulie works for showtime the favouritism they showed Broner just goes to show you how many people had made up their minds up who had won before the fight had even started.
