Whoops, picked the wrong one. JMM is old but you'd still have to favor him. He's so much more experienced, and he's a far better / smarter fighter then Boner. Boner is no Floyd. He's flat footed, and he only looks great when you lay on the inside with him.
Rees was triggering that left hook and landing the overhand right on Broner. Marquez was able to get to Floyd like that at times. On Broner it would make an impact. As would JMM's body work from side angles.
:deal Heard that story million times before,"Marquez too old" then ends up Knocking pacroid out in 6.Broner defense is good but not world class no where near floyds or marquez they'd systematically just pick him apart.:smoke Marquez would frustrate the hell out of broner,JMM would counter broners counters,He can't win.
Broner does roll his shell. He just hasn't figured out how to outright defend the left hook and feels more comfortable, at this point, countering it with his own. That's a dangerous game to play with JMM. Floyd -even the older version- had the mobility required to force JMM to both follow him around and reset. Against Broner, JMM won't have to do much chasing or resetting. It would be fought in a phone booth. Actually, if anyone is displaying lateral movement in this fight, it's probably Marquez.
Agreed. He rolls, just not mature. I also agree Marquez would be the one giving angles, Broner likes to plant himself for his power-punches.
Marquez is by far the best fighter Broner have fought, If this was a prime Marquez it would be a easy night. But the age of Marquez makes it intresting
People put way too much stock in the Floyd vs JMM fight to predict how Broner would do. Broner is not defense first, he is offense which plays into JMMs hands. Most importantly JMM is so much smarter in the ring they almost operate in different sports.
