Problem was the match making from the start. Was wondering what ingle was doing when first seen the towel but as it went on knew it was a good stoppage without even knowing the eye was as serious as it was. But one of these guys are gonna get seriously hurt sooner or later with the match making. Watched canelo v smith last nite. Luckily canelo carried him imo. Otherwise could have ended up seriously hurt. Pushing guys like smith into world title positions far too early and welterweights up against a solid feared punching middleweights asking for trouble.
I agree, the matchmaking is poor. I can't blame Golovkin for taking the fight but you have to question the promoters and the sanctioning bodies. The unfortunate thing is people are saying "Brook did well" (which is debatable) and that's just going to encourage more of these matches and more of the bad justification. The fact that Brook had those small glimpses of success should really be an extra indication that he was being wasted being put in there. By all means, if Brook wants to show his middleweight potential then move up and fight some decent fighters, maybe stop off at 154 for a test or two, but to go in against GGG his first fight at the weight is wrong for several reasons.
Are the Eubanks really that dumb or just straight up dont give a **** about anything or anyone but themselves. You'd think after the Watson and Blackwell tragedys that they both were a part of as fighters, they'd put all the self hype bull**** aside and call a good stoppage of a man receiving a broken orbital from stepping up 2 weight classes to fight probably the most feared, avoided and hardest hitting MW..... A good stoppage.
But when you consider all he was up against. He did do well in that respect he gave a good account of himself.
