It's an absolute load of b*llocks if this remains PPV. As has been mentioned, it'll be your usual well known names in mismatches on the undercard to try and sell this. I don't mind paying for PPV if it's a top top fight, likewise if there are a few evenly matched solid world level title fights I don't mind paying either (it's understandable that in order to bring some world title fights to England for the home fighter that you have to pay the champions to travel and the only way to do that is via PPV - the Mitchell/Linares, Brook/Gavin, Selby/Gradovic, AJ/Johnson with a top domestic clashes in Blackwell/Ryder + a barnstormer between Ryder/Hibbert justified the worth). But Kell Brook v Diego Chaves + the obvious well known Brits in uneven matches which will no doubt be the case does not justify PPV, no chance.
Stop being negative please. This is going to be a cracking night, delivering top value to punters. Get on board the PPV express plz.
I bought a ticket for £40 the day they went on sale from Matchroom Boxing. Sheffield Arena can only hold about 10-11K for boxing, so in reality a £40 ticket is more in line with a £60 or even £80 at the O2 Arena or Manchester Arena. So far it's gone from Brook v Chaves with an ok undercard including Mcdonnell v Parady (12 round Euro title), to being a dual pay-view event with Fury & Vlad (showing the fight on big screens in the arena) to being a stand alone pay-per-view event with Eubank Jr in a 12 rounder added and 1/2 other fights still to be announced involving high profile boxers or what ever Eddie Hearn can throw together at such late notice. From my perspective it's probably better value buying a ticket and actually going to the event than buying it on Sky Box Office.
The regular shows that are not PPV will probably now be Prizefighters and the odd English title fight. We might get lucky and get "The Return of John Murray" :tired
:hi: Hello Edward This "top value" you talk of, may I suggest you pop on a betting site and look at the pre fight odds and tell me where I can find some value please :think 1-100 1-50 1-25 1-75 1-100 1-80 That's what a Matchroom card normally looks like on my betting app. I find it very hard to find "top value".
Consider the fact that a number of top draw fighters are getting a run out...... Plenty of value here. Let's all buy it and show our support.
