After thinking about who were the best British prospects coming through, I thought about how they would compare with their American counterparts. Even though the 2 americans are world champions, i genuinely think the brits would have a very good chance of beating them. Cloud is a heavy puncher but as an all rounder I reckon cleverly is better. Woods gave cloud problems even at his age and nathan is quicker and stronger thann he was at that time. Id probably make cloud favourite but not by a lot. brook would have an even better chance of beating berto. Andre has beaten decent contenders so far but has struggled and looked poor against quintana until the great combo that ended it. Brook really has to face better opposition but he is unorthoidox poerful and quick. Bertos quite rigid and as has been seen with someone like pavlik, this can be capitalised on by movers like brook. Hed definitely cause the champion a lot of problems. Im not saying they would win for definite but they are definitely on a par talent wise with the americans
I don't want to disagree with you because I don't know much about Brook or Cleverly(know more about Cleverly than Brook). But I'm shocked to see you use a Berto-Pavlik comparison in there. Not that I think Berto's particularly good, his footwork indeed is a cause for concern, but even so, he's quicker on his feet and much quicker in his handspeed than a guy like Pavlik, and in general they fight nothing alike.
Brook and Cleverly are two fantastic boxers, and i believe can be world beaters within a few years. While i would disagree that Cleverly would beat Cloud now, i think he can be a better all round boxer than him in the future. Brook, IMO is ready for the step up, and it needs to happen sooner rather than later
Kell Brook is a much better fighter than Amir Khan, but he needs to get a move on and step it up for christ sake. Brooks inactivity is ridiculous. Be more active and step the competition up and be quick about it, hes wasting quality time. I actually think hes better than Amir Khan
Brook would get his ass kicked all over the ring by Berto. Brook's handlers would never try to make that fight at this time because they know what type of beating their guy would be in for.
They are both good enough to enter world level, its just a case of when. Kell Brook is far too inactive for someone that is considered a 'prospect' considering his style is based largely on reflexes he needs to be moved along fast before he starts to loose them. But seriously, Brook has some of the best skills I have seen in a long time, he has alot of power, good speed and can box well. Future world champ no doubt. Clev is pretty much ready for someone like Cloud, I see him winning a wide UD. Remember Calzaghe vs Lacy? Yeah...
What's Cloud done to get such a killer reputation? Smucker's Jam couldn't cherry pick as good as Cloud's management has done.
