Brook dropped by pillow fist Amar?

Nothing special. Not powerful, crisp maybe. Not lovely to look at.

 

It's like Eubank's jab, steps into it and as Icemax said is like a ramrod.

I hate this line but gotta use it, people that have boxed know how hurtful that type of Jab Brook and Eubank throw is.

Brook hurt McIntyre with the jab and Gavin wasn't hurting him with right hands. It's a good jab.

I don't think having the same technique as Eubank on the jab necessarily means it's as good. I wouldn't know, though. I haven't been behind the punches! Lol.

Just my opinion, anyway. Nothing special.

 

Ok with Brook he throws a 'power jab'. It's his range finder and he makes it pay. He steps into the jab and turns knuckle over which really hurts so he's using both hands to hurt his opponent which many don't do. Plus imagine you step forward onto a jab the momentum makes it even more hurtful. I've seen Cotto knock Clottey down with it. I think they call that type of jab 'Dempsey's Jolt'..

He doesn't vary his jab enough for my liking but in terms of punch technique he's very nice to watch. It's strange how orthodox he is compared to other Ingle fighters. Wonder if his dad told him not to do as Brendan says...:think

 

I'd be going in blind if I tried to debate on it. Haven't really paid much attention to his jab alone in his fights. Any fights you would recommend which display his 'lovely, compact and crisp and powerful' jab? :blurp

I think Mand is spot on about Brook's jab, it is really tidy.

 

I've watched his fights to notice it and make the judgement that it's not powerful and not good to look at, but I haven't really paid close attention to it to really back up my argument fully, which is why I asked for some fights.

 

Its tidy but he doesn't pull it back right for me and often leaves his chin there to be cracked as he seems to lean back a hell of a lot.

Its the same with the straight right too. He's got away with it so far but a world class counter puncher will hit him and hit him often.

I kind of want to see him get cracked hard and see if he trys to fix his mistakes in the gym but Hatton isn't the guy to do it.
