I don't doubt that it was a serious injury cause him great discomfort to the eye, but him saying that the eye socket was broken is certainly not an indication that the eye socket was actually broken by a punch. I would bet that Kell had a pre-existing injury to the eye socket / skull that may have been re-activated during the fight. The problem from my view was the swelling that was not treated with ice / enswell in between rounds. The lack of the cutman being able to ice the eye area caused the problem to become a big distraction for Kell.

If the cutman would have been able to put an ice pack on the eye socket / eye brow area in between rounds, it would have relieved Kell's discomfort greatly and possibly even relieved the blurry / double vision that he said he was experiencing.

    Glass eyesockets exist in boxing.

“He obviously can punch, but I expected bigger punches. He broke my eye socket in the second round. I was seeing three or four of him… "

Did Brook expect GGG to completely cave his head in before he'd concede he was a big puncher?

He smashed his eye socket inside 2 rounds!

    Brook is a warrior.

Firstly for accepting the fight, which many bigger men are ducking right now.

Secondly, for giving it everything in the ring.

But GGG did hurt him, you don't cave a man's eye socket in 2 rounds, and then lack power. Also by the 5th the cumulative affect had caught up with Kell and he was ready to drop.
