He doesn't wanna box. It's so clear, he just wants one more payday

It should never have been an option, why is that so hard to fathom? If my employer offered me the chance to stand in a cage with a lion for one minute and offer me £2m in exchange I would seriously consider it. But clearly my employer would then be recklessly endangering my health.

**** poor analogy but you should get the picture. Brook had zero chance against Golovkin and was always likely to be badly hurt. Thank god Dom Ingle saved him.

At this point, I just want both Khan and Brook to take the fight and cash out and get out of the sport ASAP- I’m bored of both, especially Khan with his flip flopping and diva demands. Brooks also being a desperado, as he’s seemingly willing to ruin himself to get down to the weight when there is no friggin title on the line.

Hearn/sky should be ashamed that they haven’t been able to deal with Khan and make him agree to a fair catch weight, but it is what it is- get the fight done and dusted, give them their money to retire on and get rid of both Eddie. Concerntrate on the new blood.

GGG- Brook was a scandalous fight to make, absolutely disgraceful from Hearn and Sky to put that on.

But it's Hearn job to give Brook the options at his disposal. If your employer had the opportunity to make you lots of money but then never told you about it then you would be pi$$ed off as well. Brook is a grown man and he is the one who makes the decision about his own career.

100%. It’s not just the health element either, it’s the loss of future earnings. Hearn had GGG confirmed for that date, lost Eubank and as always it comes down to PPV. Hearn-Sky need to deliver a quota of PPVs and this one was in real danger of falling through. He cash grabbed on Brook’s career for short term gain.

Brook should have been advised better all round but he was obviously tempted by the money. It’s absolutely ridiculous - imagine fighting for 12 years, compiling an undefeated record (which was Brook’s selling point as he found it difficult to get fights) and winning a world title against an undefeated highly rated American away from home and finally getting his break through. Only to go an chuck it in the bin by moving up a division and a half and against one of the most dominate, powerful and feared champions of the last 25 years. A guy that couldn’t get a fight in his own weight class. Brook was so desperate for a big fight/money he would have fought Kovalev at LH.

Now Hearn is looking at getting Hearn-Khan because it ticks another PPV box. It will sell like they all do but I don’t think anyone really cares. Both the winner and loser at done.

This. Nobody forced Brook to fight GGG.

Also boxing fans on one hand want to see fighters try and achieve greatness yet when it doesn't come off they seem quick to say how bad it was to attempt such a thing. I don't get that.

If Errol Spence said he was jumping to 160 to fight GGG would I think he would lose? Yes. Would I say it was wrong for him to attempt such a feat? Not at all.

    Excellent.....

IMO Brook is the biggest waste of talent in a generation....A mixture of bad luck and terrible management has ruined what should have been a superb career into more or less an anti climax...After beating Porter the 147 division was his for the taking but Hearn wouldnt let him fight the likes of Thurman because of the old risk/reward thing !..So what did we get?.JOjO Dan and Frankiefukin Gavin...The money would have followed if he had got in with Thurman/Garcia/Pac etc and the Khan ppv would had to have happened by now...

There is a difference between trying to achieve greatness and going into a frankly stupid fight, with no chance of winning and every chance of injury. So what happens? He gets a broken orbital bone from a ****ing jab in the first round.

This wasn't going up a weight to fight for a world title. This was going up TWO weights, not just to fight for a title, but an elite fighter who isn't known for schooling fighters but for beating them up.

Unifying at your weight, moving up and doing the same there is an attempt at greatness. Defending against mandatory fighters, taking a cash out two weights above and then still trying to chase Amir Khan at a weight you claim you can't make is not chasing greatness, IMO.

    True story that
Had he been in with decent people instead of no names
The khan fight would be on the rematch by now

Of course...There would have been nowhere to hide ,and at the time the 147 division was the hottest and there was plenty of money to be made....I seen Thurman say both him and Kell wanted to fight but Hearn blocked it !!!why?to throw him in with GGG....crazy

Surely making $1-2 million a fight v Thurman,Garcia,Peterson,Algieri,Rios,Pac,Porter rematch then a couple of bumper Khan ppvs would have made him 10 times more than the money from GGG and Spence fights?..

I know Kell has to take his share of blame with his weight and 'party' antics but the management has been as poor as it could be imo

Kell is only 32 and Khan is only 31. Both should still have enough left to add something significant to their legacies. Brook has that chance at 154 and Khan has it at 147.

I'm not looking forward to see them go for the shameless cash outs instead :(

I am disappointed with this news, I was hoping to see him fight Hurd or Charlo.
