It's infuriating when a fighter quits simply because he is being outclassed, or beaten up, that is unacceptable quitting. Let the corner or the ref or the doc make that decision for them while they keep fighting ....to win. One eye swollen shut, a broken hand, a minor injury to an arm or leg. I think it's reasonable to expect an athlete with pride and a desire to win to want to continue regardless. Brook wasnt that scenario. The guy already experienced a broken orbital in his last fight. Surgery. Doctor recommendations and cautions regarding future issues. Seeing guys like izzy vasquez lose an eye. It's his life and health. And that's a major injury, again. I can't fault him at all. No more than you could fault G-man for taking a knee when he figured out his brain was scrambled.
Yes, Brook is not a quitter................let Spence fight Golovkin, then fight Spence and then see what happens................I pick Thurman to beat Spence, also pick Porter and Garcia.....................
I mean, he literally by every definition possible quit, so... Doesn't mean he wasn't justified in doing it or anything, fact remains he still quit.
I think he did what was best for him... Sometimes you just gotta stay down.. Im worried about Brook injuries in the eye like that have a tendency to never go away... Well see.. Maybe fight Khan and then call it a carreer..
