Yeah, ridiculous how nowadays any close fight that goes to the hometown fighter is a robbery.

''Just watched Matt Macklin get robbed against Felix Sturm on Epix, he won most of the rounds, but hard to win in Germany except by KO''

The words of British great-Audley Harrison

I don't think its the idea that it was a robbery thats annoying, more the fact that the homefighter will get the decision. It's inevitable. It's not like 'oh it was a close fight and this guy got it'. No, its more like it was a close fight and in the event of a close fight the guy at home ALWAYS ****ing wins. You just know its coming. That gets peoples backs up, nobody was waiting for Buffer's announcement and expecting anything other than a SD Sturm victory in what should have been something that was 50/50.

I have to say we're not lagging too far behind Germany though, along with Canada.

Oh yeah and Italy, but that goes without saying. They are the true masters. They don't even try and disguise it. If you go there you know you are ****ed.

I had Sturm by one point.

Can't see how Macklin 'won' really. Sturm took Macklin's punches in the early rounds and kept his head before outclassing Macklin down the stretch. At the end of the twelfth Macklin was in real trouble...to give Macklin the belt at the end of that would have been pretty laughable.

I can see that a draw could be fair but I can't see the Macklin win.

I think Sturm just underestimated Macklin and would win a rematch much more easily. All the same, credit to Macklin for a great effort.

He must have underestimated Gevor as well because the fight played out in a very similar fashion.
