Can’t see him taking it. Surely would be worth a lot more in UK? Maldonado interesting to see what Americans think of him. Look at Coppinger’s tweet This content is protected
Tough one for Brook. Khan got $4m for the same fight with a crowd. Brook doesn’t have the same profile in US but around $2.5m is fair. Lowball offer from top rank to some extent but can understand why. Issue brook has is age he could probably make similar money for a liam smith fight if built correct but needs crowd.
Brook is washed up. He is fortunate to even get a $1.5m offer. Where else does he have to go? He is done man.
Must admit I don't see where Brook goes this isn't a bad offer - even deducting training camps and fees etc he's still going to make decent money but due to inactivity, injuries and career choices he doesn't have much name recognition or negotiation room. He wants a big fight without earning it - this is probably as good as it gets.
this guy has clearly brokered loads of $1.5m deals for himself over the years, so I’m listening to him. I hope Kell Brook is too.
Seems many just go for what they want rather than actually what is good for Kell. Lets be honest if they put Brook vs Smith on PPV with an updercard of Fowler vs Fitz, Price vs Bakole, Okolie vs Glowacki, Harper vs Jones in Liverpool with a crowd. The PPV sells 200k buys after Skys cut and a £1m gate gives a pot of £3.6m approx at 60% after costs Kell is taking £1.5-1.7m which is closer to $2m to fight Smith in a winnable fight. From Kell's point of view he can take $1.5m for Crawford lose and he's done or take a Sky PPV in a winnable fight and the Crawford fight or title fight is still open to him next summer. Not saying its right but surely its what he's thinking or being advised. For him a $2-2.5m purse is closer to being fair particularly if theres crowds back come November. Khan got $5m on a card that did 150k PPV buys. if brook vs crawford does 100k buys with no crowd the pot is still well over $6m and for that Brook is being offered 25% of th pot.
Yes he does. He's wasting away his career fighting the best of the rest continuously. With the way his careers going we'll probably see him in with someone like Sebastian Formella after this fight.
Yeah I’m not interested in how much money another man earns pal. Least of all another man who doesn’t know I exist. If it’s me brother and he gets a nice payrise I’ll probably say nicely played pal, well earned. Mates, same as. People I don’t know, completely irrelevant.
Shell Brook has a final pointless one sided fight left for a bag of loot and he would be as well taking this fight. Nothing to lose and everything to gain if he can put in a good performance to set up a PPV Blockbuster in Saudi v Amir Con.
