ive been away for awhile and i miss the valued opinions of the many esteemed posters here at ESB...i need some answers to some questions

first lets talk brook spence....can hearn surely be serious? the last time i was here all i heard was how brook was a huge WW boiling down and would probably never fight at WW again. surely spence is not the type of WW fight worth boiling down for right? not a huge fight and clearly dangerous. are we taking hearn seriously on this one or not?

now that jacobs/ggg is signed and sealed....is this a legit real fight for ggg? i mean lets be honest he hasnt set the bar real high in that regard...but is this the one? last time i around these parts, when the fight talks were stalling, i heard how he was the guy that got knocked by sergio mora....is this a real test or what?

canelo v chavez eh? looks pretty nice to me. ill watch. last time i was round here though all i heard was how canelo had no real options and his popularity was declining....will this fight sell? will canelo make money? are people interested?

Why would Brook have any reason to fear Spence?

He just went in the ring with GGG and he's suppose to be afraid of some 21 and 0 hypejob?

Reminds me of when Shuan Porter first burst onto the scene and had a good showing against Alexander.
Suddenly everyone went on like it was craziest idea to share the same ring with him. They built the boy up to be some raging bull killer. Many pundits were going as far as saying he was the welter Mike Tyson

Now this drug cheating clown is meant to be some mythical beast that has a lair that everyone should tip toe around.

As for jacobs, if you want to know how credible he is just look at his ranking and check to see why Eubank jr done his best to vacant instead of fighting him.

He's as credible as they come, however GGG will make it look like he's fighting a pub crawler on the night and so inevitably many who would not be familiar with him, will have written him off as a bum.

Brook went into the fight knowing the likely outcome was him getting KO. In other words, he just went for the paycheck. The fact that his corner stopped the fight the way they did shows me that they were going to stop it as soon as they felt Brook had ZERO chance of winning.

The corner knew Brook had a shattered orbital bone. The stoppage was fine.

In saying that I think Brook's tacitcs of standing and trading were more to do with the PPV numbers for his next fight rather than trying to beat GGG.

If he gets Spence at Bramall Lane on PPV it'll serous ££££££ for him again. Two fights will have set him and his family for life.

Point is he still went in with GGG and had a shootout. So he isn't scared of Spence.

GGG should beat Jacobs but Jacobs is dangerous

I don't even know what the deal is with Brook. He fights a bunch of regional level fighters, then gets a close win against a world level fighter, and then goes back to fighting sub par competition. The GGG fight was purely a money grab, a roll of the dice at the very best.

Jacobs is a decent fighter with a very suspect chin. My guess is that he will go down with the first solid punch GGG lands. Sure, he has a punchers chance, but really, anyone does. Its crazy that this is considered a step up for Golovkin lol. That's how weak GGG's resume is. Beating Jacobs doesn't enhance Golovkin's legacy very much in my opinion.

Canelo-Chavez is not that meaningful in terms of accolades, but it is and has been highly anticipated for at least 5 years. I'm confident that this fight will breal 1 million PPVs. I've been invited to 3 different fight parties for this fight, but I myself will likely host one. It is very rare to see multiple fight parties within my circle of friends and family, but everyone seems very excited for this Mexican 5 de Mayo showdown.

I'm sure Brook isn't afraid of anybody, but I'm pretty sure he would rather get KO for 5 mil + PPV upside in a fight where he's not supposed to win anyway, than to be beat in a real fight where he NEEDS to win to keep his status for 1 or 2 million dollars max.

I don't disagree, but still that does not explain why he would be so afraid of fighting Erol Spence.

I'm not sure anyone here is saying Brook is afraid of Spence. I do think that he may just want to milk his own name fighting subpar competition like has done all of his career save Porter and the exhibition bout with Golovkin.

Even at this early stage in Spence's career I think he is better than Lacey, having said that I think its to early for him to face Brook!
Just because he took out Algeri??? Who was Algeri before Ruslan Provodnikov fought him ...
he is known as he has been beaten by Pacman, Khan & Spence ...this does not make Spence world class, he is but Brook is too much at the moment.

OK, here's the real deal to catch you up and cut thru the hype.

    Brook-Spence is a real fight.
Spence is better than anyone Brook has fought, including Porter and Golovkin.
Spence just beat up Algeri who is as good as anyone on Golovkin's resume, if not better.
Algeri fought Pac and lost by decision. Spnece knocked him out without much ado.
This will be a great competitive fight. Brook is tougher than anyone Spence has fought and has an unorthodox offesive style. Be sure to watch.

    Golovkin Vs Jacobs
The best fight at MW to be made until Canelo, Charlo and possibly Hurd move up in the mix.
Honestly, I have never been overly impressed by Golovkin or Jacobs, but the MW division is all b-level and these two are the best B-levels in the division.
I see the fight as 50/50.

    Chavez-Canelo
A good stay busy fight for Canelo which allows him to move up in weight against a big SMW. The fight should be a good one but I see it ending with a Canelo TKO when Chavez comes forward and eats a devastating uppercut.
This fight will do good revenue and make Canelo and Chavez a nice piece of change.

    Remember what I told you.
