Yay, let's clear out all the best of the mediocre-by-world-class-standards Canadians instead of, you know, a threat. :dead I like Kell but this is getting silly.
Brook can box, for sure, but he's lacking something. That's why he's been brought along so cautiously. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't see him ever stepping it up. People are quick to criticise Khan, however it is worth pointing out that Brook turned pro before Khan and has had a couple more fights. But just look at the difference in careers. Khan has fought around twelve world champions and is a two weight champ. Brook meanwhile has fought just one world class opponent and is only recently a belt holder.
depends you're def of world class. top 10 of a weight class I'd consider world class easily. even if not an A level fighter.
Sure.. Brook has a big fight in summer.. That is, Antonio Decaire.. His def for big fight.. What a fraud
Possibly being optimistic in asking for a source? Spence Jr in his mandatory after Bizier so one would assume that'll happen after...although I have a feeling it won't happen
I don't think Brook-Spence would be PPV over here to be honest, Spence is about as well known as Bizier among most fans (unless they do one of Hearn's infamous 'stacked' cards). Just assumed they'd move Spence up a place once Bizier is beaten, but Spence-Ponomarev is quite a good fight itself actually. If Spence swerves that I'll definitely give him stick and I suspect most of this forum will. Say that happens and Brook hasn't tried to secure a big fight elsewhere in that time, then I will still give him stick too. The UK fans are being promised big fights for Brook constantly and since Porter haven't had a sniff of one
What a load of *******s! :rofl Embarrassing the number of people who have commented on this thread as if this is gospel. It's a load of ****.
Hearn has said they're chasing big fights and negotiating with GGG but the only evidence I've seen of that aside from Hearn was when the Chaves fight nearly came through. Other than that, it's just been Hearn saying they're chasing such and such a name. I just don't trust the guy at all. To be fair, Khan and Bradley have gotten way bigger fights elsewhere. Ali had one of those silly WBO belts at some point which I assume is why he was able to get a pop at the world belt there (I think anyway, correct me if I'm wrong). Surprise Porter never tried to put a rematch together you know, it was fairly close but he's doing whatever at the mo. Alexander I don't think would be the big name Hearn is trying to get either seeing as he is 1-3 in his last 4. I should point out when I say 'Brook isn't doing X or Y' I mean more his handlers. Boxers are always accused of ducking and the like but when it comes down to it I think it's rare that they ever don't actually want to fight the best fights
He will fight Bradley, Khan, Vargas, Garcia or GGG next as I think he wants a big fight in the summer to make some money and make a statement.
Brook has fought two mandatories and a quick turnaround voluntary against Gavin since Porter - he's been hindered by injury and the IBF. He's avoiding nobody, he's a victim of circumstances. He wants the big names, will get the big names after Bizier and he goes in as favourite/slightly longer odds against anybody at 147. He will never fight Antonin Decarie.
