thurman, berto, guerrero, ortiz os many options, so stop with this no one there BS....147lb division is stacked!
So answer this. Which do you find more impressive, with Brook due to fight on July 13th too. Brook, coming off a horrific stabbing incident fighting against Jo Jo Dan (top rated IBF challenger available), Frankie Gavin (top ranked IBF challenger available), and either Brandon Rios or Juan Manuel Marquez in 107 days. Or, let's say Andre Ward done in the last 510 days since he fought Rodriguez and counting. :think
Berto and Ortiz! :rofl:rofl:rofl Gavin butchers those two journeymen. Al Haymon won't let Thurman anywhere near this. Get real. Guerrero is coming off a loss and wouldn't be sanctioned by the IBF.
Fans in Britain tend to be quite tribal of there hometown fighters and the movement rolls. Ill give you an example, there is a young featherweight called Josh Warrington from leeds, loads of potential and well liked. He had a fight in his home town and sold 10,000 tickets. He is being touted as the next Ricky Hatton and I would not underestimate how well Kell is liked over here.
point is atleast they are known fighters....even though in the lower bracket of 147lb fighters but gavin??? everyone knows this is a waste of time fight
Let me give you a full explaination and see what you disagree with. 1. Gavin is ranked higher at Welterweight (15) than Guerrero (16) Ortiz (51!) and Berto (20) according to Boxrec, and I know it's not a good source for rankings but let's be honest he belongs above Ortiz and Berto at least 2. If you think Al Haymon would let Thurman come to the UK at this amount of notice, whether Thurman wanted to or not, baring in mind what Brook did to Porter. You don't know **** about Al Haymon. 3. For Brook this is a mandate defense as he plans to make a voluntary on July 13th against either Marquez or Rios. The fighters you mentioned aren't currently ranked by the IBF so would be classed as voluntary. If Brook takes that, it's unlikely that the IBF would allow him to take another voluntary on July 13th. 4. If he sat out until July, he would still HAVE to fight Gavin most likely anyway, being the ones ranked ahead of him are, Dan- who's he's already beat, Bradley who appears to be moving up, and Khan who won;t fight him, after that Gavin is the next ranked. 5. You say Gavin is not known, but this is a UK PPV event and he's more known in the UK than anyone you mentioned. So is it really that bad of fight? :think
This is a mandatory defense, because Brook is fighting Marquez or Rios 6 weeks later. Thurman is not ranked by the IBF and there is a cat in hell's chance Haymon let's his cash cow come the UK at 6 weeks notice. Alexander wouldn't be allowed to be a mandatory because he's coming off a loss. Bradley is moving up to fight Bundrage. So no, they are not available. Get a clue before you post again. :hi:
