Brook v Gavin May 30th?

This isn't happening is it?, surely not.

 

If this fight happens it's only because Brook/Hearn want to keep Brook busy and keep his name out there. I don't think they will be claiming it is a clash of global superstars.

They wanted to fight a self-proclaimed global superstar but sadly that gentleman was not prepared to lower himself to fighting Brook.

Criticism of Dan is pathetic it was a mandatory. If you remember many years ago when Khan was a world champion he had to face the awesome challenge of Dmitriy Salita for the same reason.

Fighters get a lot of grief for being inactive and I think it is a pleasant change seeing a champion wanting to fight after only 8/9 weeks rest. Marquez, Thurman or Bradley are not going to take a fight at 7 weeks notice nor are they going to accept the money on offer for a fight at this venue.

Frankly they may go a bit further down the IBF rankings than Gavin for an opponent on 30th May

Whoever Brook fights on 30th May take it for what it is a bit of added value on an already decent card.

Lads in Eddie's video with Kugan after the Geordie Roar show, Eddie said he's working on making Gavin vs Bradley - he didn't sound keen on Brook vs Gavin at all.

Because May 30th is such short notice, I think we're likely to see Brook fight Alvarado or Chavez.
