Apparently the ticket sales are very poor for Brook Vs Jones and it is selling nowhere near as fast as Brook Vs Hatton, only around 2000 tickets sold so far and they haven't even opened the top end of the seats. Disappointing as would have been nice for Brook to continue to be selling out arenas but doesn't look like Eddie can get many in for this one
A week before Haye - Chisora and not long after Nottingham. I expected as much. Shame, as it's a really good fight
Well it obviously wasn't going to sell as well because "Ricky Hatton's brother" is a much easier sell than an American with a dodgy looking record, even though Jones is a better opponent.
No casuals have heard of jones, there is no relevant title{although which titles are even relevant these days?}, record doesn't look great. These are the factors. It's not a bad fight but that's how it works
As others have said... Hardly surprising.. If you were gonna go to a fight this year it would be Haye v Chisora or Bute v Froch... add the fact its slap bang between the two.
not true the upper tiers are open, have a look on the motorpoint website you can literally pick you seat so can see which are gone and which arent, a lot of the £30 tickets have gone like everyone says timing not great not long after froch v bute and just before hayve v chisora, i went to froch and out of the other two i may still go to this atleast it wont be full of divs who know nothing about boxing like haye v chisora will
You can pick a seat pretty much anywhere which isn't encouraging for ticket sales and I bet some will have been given to fighters which won't be sold yet either
I think it's a good fight for us and it's a step up for Brook but it's a hard fight to sell, to be fair. As good as Brook is, people aren't going to be desperate for tickets when his opponent has no name, has no big victories, has a few losses, there isn't a world title and there's no other selling point such as some animosity between the two. There is nothing there, apart from it being a Kell Brook fight, to sell tickets. Maybe when the Sky build up starts there'll be a big increase in ticket sales.
I always said if they got between 6000-7000 for this they have done well and with the undercard they put on i expect them to get near that.Eddie was suprised that the Hatton fight got 10000 becuase they origanly set it for 7000 then when tickets went so well they realsed the rest of the tickets. Carson Jones doesn`t really float the boat enough for the casuals to make this a sell out,but if Brook get a title shot at the motorpoint i expect it will sell out.
:deal I havent heard of him and dont really have any interest in this fight! Brook needs bigger names / bigger fights! Who has this guy beat?
