At this time in both of their careers, i think its a really good main support fight to a massive main event Id like to see it on a potential AJ Fury undercard Probably the only way to finance that fight too
Just let us know when the fight is signed until then shut up. It’s been dragging on for about 7 years.
All it's going to tell us now is who's declined more... Probably still be a good fight, but an awful lot of the intrigue has gone out of it, IMHO. As others... Would watch if able, but not paying for it unless something else on the card is actually worth it because this just doesn't get me going like it would've a few years back.
It is now about 1/10 for me - 2 faded and jaded fighters which should be on the undercard of a Katie Taylor World Title Fight.
I'll watch but wouldn't pay a penny to this money grab. A few years ago I was on fight pass just in hope this fight was going to happen! Proper mugth
I’ll be watching and I’d likely buy a ticket to go. Okay, it’s annoying that both fighters are past their prime and there isn’t really anything on the line for either of them (the fight has no real world level reprocussions), but they genuinely don’t like each other and its a good mix of styles for a good big fight. I hope it happens.
If this freak show happens, it will probably be chucked on Sky PPV. I can’t see that Eddie/DAZN will be prepared to use up a massive chunk of their budget on it. 2 washed up fighters with no chin/punch resistance left - no thanks.
This fight has lost its charm now. Both are desperate for a big retirement payday that they won’t get in this climate
Why do you think that? Many people obviously still would enjoy it. it would be entertaining and competitive. Both are world class boxers, even still. I've noticed a lot of people looking forward to Smith vs Fowler (including myself) but that's nowhere near Brook vs Khan in terms of quality and entertainment. It won't have the same buzz as it would have done four years ago, but that doesn't mean nobody cares. That shouldn't detract from the enjoyment. Whether people are willing to pay £20 to watch it is another story. I wouldn't have paid for that four years ago, so...
I'm not sure there is a promoter stupid enough to pay these two the big money they want and then seeing the fight flop. This fight has no winner. The winner simply would be the one who wasn't more shot. On ifl Hearn to me looked like a guy who wants nothing to do with it. He certainly isn't going to be putting up big money for it. He even said both fighters have been convinced it does huge sky box office numbers hence there huge purse demands.
I don't think they should rush into it. Wait a few more years and let it build up. Looking forward to watching it in 2055
I honestly think that this fight should be abandoned by every boxing fan in the UK!!! For years and years when these two were world class operators they talked and talked about this fight and as fans we would have been in for a treat because both on their best night were brilliant. Instead all we got were excuses and talk and then more talk and then they talked about it again, then Khan decided he was levels above Brook and the fight was beneath him, then they talked some more and then we all lost interest and rightly so. They have both become so irrelevant and obviously skint because now they are trying to tell us its the right time and its a huge event, please...... both are so shot, Brook more so than Khan , I would be amazed if the fight went past 2 rounds without either one having a injury. Brooks punch resistance has completely gone now, the way Crawford finished him shows he no longer belongs In a professional ring , Khan on the other hand never had any in the first place and would probably be out cold again from any flush shot . I can't honestly think of a bigger **** take fight than this for screwing the fans for money, both should just retire and live off the money they have earnt when they were great boxers
If it sells then it’s just what they need. They can give them a million quid each, put it on PPV and have it at the MEN Arena then it makes enough to get Sky new boxing offering up and running.
Except Khan is a big enough name, and has some clout beyond the UK, that he could probably get a payday fighting someone else. Hearn knows that, hence he wants to piggyback Conor Benn onto Khan's retirement journey... Brook has nowhere else to go that pays well.
