Iv read a lot recently from people, especially Americans (or khan fans) that porter will destroy brook when they fight. Having watched both of these fighters for years and seen them grow from young hopefuls to world class talent the outcome of this fight couldn't be more straight forward, Kell Brook will WIN within 8 rounds, and i'll tell you why. People say that brook cant handle pressure fighters, example being carson jones 1, but that was the brook before he realised what top level was all about, since then his fitness has increased and the level of discipline has grown, yes porter obviously carries power but after breaking the mallagangi fight down you can see those hooks which were landing were very wild hooks from long range, if he tries that against brook ( which he will do from round 2 or 3 ) he will get caught by the lighting jab from kell, once kell gets comfy with his jab then its a hard night for any WW, also when kell throw hooks they come from close range which are very hard to see coming especially when a fighter stands at distance like porter does, people say that porter cuts the ring off well however when he tries to shuffle forward he tends to drop his hands a little which again will be perfect for kell to land his excellent right hand, after 5/6 rounds the scores may be close but brook will have started to land flush and often making porter rush forward leading to more mistakes of letting his hands drop thus opening the door for kell to put his foot down and when he lets his hands go in 3s and 4s it will be the end of the fight, with either the corner of the ref pulling porter, crowing a new word champion and the future of the WW division.
We'll have to see. Brook hasn't faced anyone world class. His best win is MAYBE Senchenko or Jones. Neither one of those guys are world class IMO. He's been to protected, and I think it'll come back to bite him soon.
with Porter being as wild as he is, it's the timing of Brook that will be the undoing of him. the hype has just got too crazy for Porter for me to take any of it seriously. it's insane. in a really bad way. like people have just thrown their chips in on any old ****. you would have thought that the Americans that were getting this kind of hype but getting derailed very quickly, would of made the American boxing fans take a few steps back and not be so gung ho. but no, they instead take another couple of steps FORWARD. just crazy, and very deluded in the most extreme form.
I don't have a favorite in this fight. Although with all the talk I've been hearing about Brook and the few highlights I've seen of him, I am quite curious regarding this fight. If Brook were to somehow pull off this major upset, what would be his next step?? Obviously America is where all the big fights are but with him being aligned with Eddie Hearn, I wonder how he could secure the big fights without the backing of Golden Boy or Top Rank....the way the landscape is currently.
This will be a close fight and its down to how much Brooks solid jab and punch power affect Porter. Brook must make Porter taste the strength of his jab ASAP which may deter Porter from using raiding tactics if so hes on top. If Porter can get through Brook needs to sort his footwork out and not go back in a straight lines if he does he`s in trouble. Porter will have to be careful when attacking like he does because if he gets caught coming in its goodnight as Brooks power is double that of Paulie and Devons
