So unless I missed it not sure anyones mentioned Brook asking for the weight to be increased to 152lbs? Not sure whether to read a great deal into this but the fact he's struggling ,and the effect this will have on his stamina, perhaps suggest his issues from the last fight with Jones may not be behind him, thoughts?
Yeah fat Dan said Eddie wanted it to be rearranged at 152 and Jones' team said no. The fights still at 150 but begs a few questions..I think he could move to 154 soon
lol... so now he is having trouble making 147.... gee I still wonder why the Alexander fight didn't go through
That is odd. I really want Brook to do well, but I do worry. He either isn't dedicated to his trade, or he isn't the world class fighter I thought he was going to grow into. I really hope he can continue to evolve and get a big fight.
He definitely ballooned slightly after the Alexander injury pull put, a week later his face was a lot fatter and he looked a bit bloated but maybe he'd be binge eating. Hearn hinted after the Jones fight that he had prepared badly and it all points to him not sticking to a dedicated training and eating regime that would be required to keep him comfortably making welter. I think he SHOULD be making it but just isn't getting something right, if he has to move up to 154 he basically has to start again because he's done nothing at welter so he's not going to walk in to opportunities at LMW all of a sudden on the world stage. His career is really stagnating with all this uncertainty at the weight and injuries and pull outs. Meant to be fighting for a world title and now in a rematch with Carson Jones, talk about going backwards. If he struggles again against Jones I get the impression he may lose Eddie's support, he was chuffed with the crowd and the fight against Hatton but since then it's been a nightmare for Brook in every aspect of his career.
:good this is the first i've heard about the weight issue. doesn't sound like it's going too well for Brook at the moment. it'll be a shame if it collapses around him. hope good things start to happen for him because he is talented.
Sounds like Kell is having serious problems trying to make welterweight,I really hope he doesn't move up in weight all the best fights are at 147.
If this was another fighter from the UK @ 147 he would be getting ripped to shreds. Hypocrisy on the UK Forum???
Kell always seems to have an issue, be it injury, questions over commitment, weight, changing promoter the list goes on. It says a lot that despite being around for 7-8 years the biggest positive I can find about him is that up until a year ago if you typed Kell Brook into google it would ask you "Did you mean Kelly Brook?" At this point I would often decide that I did.
Too many things do not add up with Brook & his preparation for recent fights when he was fit let alone the injury issues etc.The last fight against Jones he even said himself he didn't do the weight properly that is with all the advantages of long training camp. Remember the recent interview on Ringside after his last postponement against Alexander he had ballooned alarmingly in weight in a short period. You have to question his dedication if he is wanting catch weight fights at 150lb let alone 152lb tells you he is struggling big time to make 147lb the weight he should be making & fighting at.
Brook could of easily made a pound for pound name for himself (dont stop reading yet) Basically what i mean is if he won that IBF title at welterweight then still had problems with the weight at onefourseven then he would move up to super welterweight/LMW. And in that weight theirs alot of easy world titles to win. He would of then still be undefeated along with being a two weight world champ. Who would still slate him? (This whole thing is a question tho)
Brook is fast becoming Hearns ingrate.....fast car eddie will soon speed off and leave Kell on the curb
