Interested to know peoples opinion of this, did Kells difficulty making 147 cause him to gas or did Spence just take over ? Spence is a big guy too so maybe it could equally play into his hands ? How do you see it
how many people did we see here that suggest spence is to big for 147 and should move up. kell was asked after the fight if the weight was the cause of his loss and he denied this, even said that his next fight will be at 147 IF he has changed his mind about the weight for his next fight it kind of suggests it was management decision. i think the outcome would be similiar if not exactly the same
Same outcome for me. Brook looked impotent against Spence. Brook's only shot would be to go all out in the first 3 rounds relentless for the KO.
Brook did look significantly bigger and stronger to me. That would probably be even more pronounced at 154. Not having to cut weight would most likely have improved Brooks stamina a bit. Having said that a part of me thinks Brooks age and years of getting out of shape between fights then cutting weight had caught up with him. His eyes still would have been fragile too. Similar result imo. Spence is one tough, dogged little fella.
With his eye sockets, no, same outcome. Pre GGG there isn't/wasn't a welter that stops Brook including Spence. His injury has done his career as far as i'm concerned. He's been told by Doc's that he risks his eye sight if he continues, that will weigh heavily from now on when it gets tough in there
Spence would beat any version of BrooK, his style is all wrong for Kell. Noone who doesn't move will be able to beat Spence at 147, Crawford is the only guy who has a chance of beating the Truth for my money.
If Golovkin never ruined brooks face and made it weaker he would of beat spence comfortably infact if you watch the fight it was going brook mentally was gone eye socket which caused him to have flashbacks the doctors said if he stayed longer he would of got blind that played in his mind despite having broken his eye socket he still backed spence up at the end and was fighting courageously until he couldn't see with both eyes
People forget Brook won the first 6 rounds against spence maybe lost one out of the six rounds but until his body gave out again he was very competitive. Brook was even criticised because people thought he could of last another round and win on points so Spence didn't do no obliteration like everyone keeps recalling. It was actually a very good fight. 154 may be the difference for Brook
Weird fight. Brook was comfortable for the first few but as soon as he started taking a couple of digs to that eye his arse went. Think he'll have one more then retire.
I thought Brook was handily outboxing Spence the first 6 rounds and had him 4-2 up. Alas, it seems his facial bone structure is made out of paper mache and his other eye socket went. It is no coincidence that the round following this is when Spence began to take over the fight. Perhaps this would have been the case anyway, but who knows.... If they fight again, Spence would have to be the big favourite. I think Brook is done mentally after back to back losses and would be surprised if he comes back again as the same fighter he was before the GGG fight.
No he hasn't? He was told he could lose his sight WHILST his eye socket was bust. Aslong as they don't break again, he should be fine. The positive is the one which broke v golovkin did not break v spence so atleast that shows its quite strong
