Spence will not stop brook. Spence v porter cannot happen for the title they go by the rankings, if brook vacates then it will be whoever is number 2.. porter aint even in the top 15 i dont think
Brook should just forget about 147 and vacate his belt . His greatness is destined at 154 and not a pound lower . Spence will fight all the way up to 160 in the future and will be the MW champion . Mark my words .
if he has come off the PEDs his muscles will be shrinking back towards their natural state and thus losing weight without even trying. Arnold had to get to 210 for one of his films - he walked around @ 250+ and competed at 235-240. It can be done with enough time and preparation and will power...which for a sell out PPV fight in the UK I think his motivation will be there to make 147. He doesn't want to give that belt up for a lesser fight at 154.
no...Spence doesn't need Brook...there are very good match ups for Spence without him at 147. Brook either fights at 154 or 147....fukk 150....shyt is pointless.
What people seem to be forgetting here, is there no way Spence actually WANTS to fight Brook- he is banking on Brook moving up. He doesn't want to come to Brook's back yard for the short end of the money and risk his 0 against a fighter of Brook's ability, when he can just fight the next guy in line (who won't be in Brook's league) win the purse bid, and take 50% and more or less guarantee the title. So anyone expecting Spence to take a catchweight- forget it.
He's giving it up, one way or the other. Either save yourself another tko loss or getting khtfo. Either way he will no longer have any ww belt, ever. Don't think he'll fare too well at 54, he doesn't have the true durability, he was finished after 2 TWO whole rounds v gggg. If you can't last at least 6 rounds of a hellish encounter, you lack durability, sad too. Skills are decent but NO WAY is he competitive v Spence. Again, he'll be finished within a few rounds. He might last a couple extra beat down rounds but if you can no longer protect yourself, never mind winning, then you're done, put a fork in him. I feel that ggg fight will prove to be his career undoing
Thats exactly what im afraid of. Brooks returning as damaged goods. I really hope thats not the case because he made a fan out of me that night and showcased his heart and skill. Boxing is a dying sport . We need all the mega stars we can get.
Depending if Brook is damaged goods or not. If not, it'd be a helluva fight. If Brook can hurt Spence, he can humble him for 12 rounds. If he can't, I still see.him building up a lead, but getting stopped late in the fight. Evenly matched fighy imo.
Any decision by Kell Brook to remain at 147 -- and weigh no more than 157 on fight day, per the IBF rules -- is just silly on Brook's part: I don't think he can safely make 147 any longer. In which case, he needs to ditch the IBF welterweight title and move up to Light Middle pronto. I like the Brook vs Spence matchup; but for some reason, I can't see Spence coming to the U.K, and would probably ask for an exorbitant sum in order to do so anyway. In order to make Brook vs Spence happen, Brook most likely has to travel to the U.S (which I'm sure he'd be eager to do). Also, if Spence is a big welter, why not simply match Brook and Spence at 154? The fight doesn't need to happen at a 150 catchweight, and it would only get in the way of this fight happening in any case: given he has stated the intention of fighting Canelo and Cotto at 154, I can't really see Brook being too enthralled with the prospect of having to make 150 for Spence.
It would be a mandatory defense for Brook. In the UK they can sell out an arena and put it on PPV and Brook gets 75%/25% of the money. Haymon would either have to enter his most ridiculous purse bid yet to get it in the USA and Brook would make huge money so happy days for him or (what I believe will happen) Spence will be advised to look elsewhere for a title by Haymon and pull out. So I would advise Brook, that even if he can't make it that safely to agree to the fight in the 1st place and call Haymon/ Spence's bluff. Then if Spence is really willing to go through with it, and Brook's team aren't confident he can make the weight, pull out after. After all, Brook's chief target is Khan and I can't see Khan taking that fight above 147, and he would want a belt on the line.
Stupid, they will fight (if) at 147. Maybe Brook cant make 147 anymore if thats the case vacate the belt.
