cant complain. idk if this is smart for brook or not. smart thing for sure he has gotten the fight at his home field. brook coming off a loss and not fighting a tune up . testing that eye in a reel fight. even tho he prolly had it tested out in sparring if he got hit by a flush shot by a heavy hitter in sparring then yea he tested it out. but maybe he didnt test it out. but one thing for sure spence will test it out cuz hes gunna strike hard.

credit brook alot of guys duckin spence . spence ready hes fresh never been hurt brooks fighting the best spence hes hungry an not scored . still undefeated so he has that extra fight in him to not lose that 0 .

will brook make 147 comfortably? major concern . major concern for both fighters really. honestly i would love for both these guys to just move up n fight at 154. brook win lose or draw is moving up anyways. thats why hes fighting brook if he loses its cuz hes weight drained at 147. struggled to make it after movin up 160. so wen he moves up to 154 he can say hes at the right weight n when he gets another big fight vs a charlo or lara, or andrade he might have a pitch to sell the fight.

if it wasn't for the having to come down from 160 on top of how hard it already is, his eye, and his time away from the ring, id be more confident of Brook winning, but with all of that, if he pulls it off, i think he silences a lot of people on here (barring a robbery), but initial reaction is I'm leaning towards Spence

 

Finally Brook and Hearn have stopped their shenanigans and we get two see two of the best WW square off.

Spence by KO, before the GGG fight I leaned to Brook but with the broken eye socket, yo-yoing weight divisions, confidence loss in no longer being undefeated the odds are stacked against Brook.

Outside of a robbery, if Brook pulls this off man I'm gunna have bow down to this dude because that would a remarkable win under these circumstances.

 

Had a chat with somebody to day and I made the comment "if this gets confirmed fair play to both of them for taking the fight"

And I was sort of put in my place, I couldn't really argue, his reply was along these lines "why do they deserve credit for a fight that should be standard? A champion fighting a mandatory shouldn't be a bonus for boxing fans".

Now I know both could have moved away from this fight, Brook could have used the weight issue and moved up and Spence Jr could have taken a different direction but it got me thinking, it's true, are boxing fans fed so much rubbish and is boxing in that much if a state now that we are actually grateful for a champion fighting a mandatory, doing what they should be doing?

 

Knew it was going to happen.

Looking forward to moving on from hearing about Erol Spenceas if he is some half man half lion hybrid.

Cannot wait to witness the silence of his followers who'll behave as if he never existed after he suffers his first defeat and gets exposed for the fraud that he is.

Well that would make sense since Spence's reputation is pretty low key at this stage.

I'm happy this fight has been made but I'm a bit worried that Brook has put himself at a disadvantage by having to boil down to 147 for the first time in a year. Pretty much everyone interviewed on the subject says Kell has to kill himself to get down to 147. You can't get away with that when you're facing someone like Spence. Kell might cop some flack for vacating and stepping up but I fear it might have been the smarter career move for him.

Having said that, big props to Brook. People who used to give him crap for his resume can finally shut up - he'll have fought GGG and Spence inside 8 months. He says he'll fight anyone and unlike a lot of fighters, he actually will. If he loses, he can blame being drained and give 154 a crack. As far as 2 consecutive losses could go, it wouldn't be so bad.

For Spence, this is a risky fight. Brook is a big strong guy, even if he is operating below his best at Welter. He's by far the best fighter Spence will have been in with and if he manages to pull it off, he's undoubtedly put himself in position as #1 at the weight and pencilled himself in as a potential star.

So in conclusion, Props to both guys. I'm really looking forward to this fight!
