GGG fought like he knew he couldn't get a decision and became a little over anxious to stop him and seemed a little reckless. The score cards proved that to be true. If you think he fights canelo or ward in that manner you would be very disappointed.
One set of cards Brook is now up on is his "Get Well Soon" cards next to his hospital bed. Hes well up on those cards for sure. Total domination. fanks mum.
To me he fought like someone who realized he was technically inferior and needed to impose his size and strength to win the fight. He won it purely on size.
Of course. It was a farce of a fight. WW vs MW at 160. Brook's corner knew it. No reason to shorten a man's career over a farce of a fight he wasn't ever expected to win. Get it?
chitownfightfan- Good description. Same fight I saw. I did think Golovkin seemed under the weather or not his usual self. Bright-eyed and pasty makes me think he had probably picked up a virus or similar.
I had Brook winning one round, it turns out he actually got his face broken during that round, so really - He didn't win anything.
the cards don't depict anything, since 3g was trying to end the fight early, which means yielding defence in order to maximise attack. Brook SHOULD have been up, he had an open target to pick at on the retreat. But he wasn't. Just saying the cards don't tell the story. 3g was planning on dropping points to stop Keith Lemon Brooks. even yielding his defence, 3g wasn't losing, he was ahead. He was simply better than Brookie.
Benoit Roussel had Brook ahead 39-37, having awarded Brook rounds 1, 2 and 4. Craig Metcalfe had it EVEN at 38-38, having awarded Brook rounds 2 and 4. Guido Cavalleri had it EVEN at 38-38 having awarded Brook rounds 1 and 2.
Yeah they should have done this fight at a disgraceful 'catchweight' right? There are 18 damn divisions pick one and fight at the limit. Catchweight 'fights' are pathetic.
