Brook will win

I'm not saying it gives Brook the edge, because sure, Brook doesn't have masses of quality on his record either.

But Brook is a world level boxer. I don't think many doubt he could win legit titles at 147 and 154. You can't say the same for GGG's opponents really. Maybe one or two paper champs, but nobody who could really mix it at world level. Even if GGG wasn't in the MW picture.

Brook might have a bit more power than Murray maybe but it still doesn't mean much, GGG walked through everything Lemieux and Stevens threw at him so I doubt Brook will trouble him. Martin Murray is one of the toughest guys around and it is a testament to him that it took GGG 11 rounds to get rid of him. Murray's been in with some elite fighters and only GGG has ever stopped him.

Brook's biggest shock is going to be having to go into survival mode, he's never had to do that before in a ring.

 

Sorry, I want Brook to win but he does not carry more power then a big Middleweight like Murray, there is more to power then a boxrec knockout ratio.

Brook will fall into the trap of thinking GGG is just a monster who hits hard, and not realize the guy is a very skilled boxer! GGG is comfortably a more skilled boxer then Brook, there is no way Brook will win this fight, i dont even think Brook will win 1 round!

 

People need to stop worrying about walking around weight, the ''In ring'' weight is much more important.

 

Look, if I was betting my life savings on this fight, I would back GGG. Most factors point in his favour, which is a familiar pattern in his matchmaking. Natural MW, more power, well-skilled, iron chin etc. But people predicting this will be a one-sided beatdown are under-estimating Brook. He's tough and brave and takes a shot well. His timing is exceptional and if GGG makes a mistake, he will capitalise. Will he have the power to hurt GGG? We won't know until fight night but I'm pretty certain this will be GGG's toughest fight to date. Brook will come out of this with his reputation and bank balance enhanced and a career at 154 to look forward to.

It might be a late stoppage, and I can see his corner pulling him - they've known him since he was a kid and will not let him take punishment once it looks like he can't win. But trust me, GGG will know he's been in a fight and I feel some of the guys waiting to see weakness before committing to fight him will be keener after September 10.

One thing is for sure in my eyes, GGG won't end his career with a '0' to his name, especially if he stops being a bully and takes on naturally bigger men at 168 rather than exist in the comfort zone of 160 fighting smaller opponents. Great fighters take risks, they move through the divisions, they take fights when some of the factors are against them. GGG is not a great fighter yet, for this reason.

Aye but the problem is taking a shot from Carson Jones is different to taking a shot from GGG. A lot different. He didn't hurt Porter at 147 so I just can't see a way he hurts GGG at 160 at all. I want it to be a competitive fight as I've splashed money out on a ticket but I just don't see it happening, not for more than a few rounds anyway

As for the staying in his weight thing, I don't see how not moving divisions makes you a bully. Brook chose to move up himself, GGG didn't call him out. Besides, if Brook is going to be as good as you suggest he might be then the point is pretty redundant. Plus, he hasn't exactly dwarfed most of his opponents (I think Rubio even came in over the weight if I recall). Agree with the sentiment of moving up to be great but it isn't mandatory in my eyes. Hagler never moved (lazy comparison, I know) and one of highlight wins was against someone whose best weight was at LW.
