Brophy's cashing out vs Groves April 9th

hi billy mate, before i get on with my point i just want to say best of luck to you and david brophy when you face george groves and i will hopefully be attending the show next week to cheer on jason when he boxes on the show in bellahouston.

my problem is you seem to get on your high horse about your recent achievements especially the fact you haven't been beat since burns vs crawford. but lets be totally honest none of these lads have done anything worthwhile in that time, I'm not saying they can't go on to do well but you seems to be bragging about nothing tbh:hey

best win: michail avakyan can only assume that because he has the best record and all the rest are so poor. :-(

once again you tell us that he is ready for the domestic lightweights but again he hasn't had a fight at area level yet. atsch

watched mohammad and the lack of tickets sales are the least of your problems, he is garbage. i know you have boasted his amateur record but that doesn't mean anything mate because he looked slow, no real pop and his stamina wasn't the best. be better getting him on the road and actually making money from him:good

i know you are a good coach mate and i hope that all of your boxers end up winning major titles but please don't starts the whole joe gallacher thing by boasting about bouts won or winning streaks until your guys are actually getting in the ring with opponents worth mentioning. :good

 

lewis Ritson would gladly fight for and win the British title now, that's not just my opinion, many English cosches have been greatly impressed by him.
He's only 22 but is improving quicker than any fighter ive trained before, he's massive for the weight and super strong, he will be scary strong when he gets his man strength

 

I'll agree with Billy on 1 on thing JackieFitzgeral aka as a Solaris is a tool
the sooner he is banned the better. Its the same old insults get thrown at Billy from new accounts not very clever is it

He will be fully developed at 22.. It's only bigger men that take longer to grow into their bodies.. All about genetics. What about Ritson v Mcrory would be a decent challenge for him. He's a tough lad and good boxer would be a good challenge and apprentice v master

 

with respect to Jordan he's levels above him and would hurt him, where are you getting its only bigger guys that take longer to get there man strength, sorry but your wrong

 

I'm getting that from studying human genetics in relation to sport. Done a fair bit on it at uni. With regards to being levels above again hasn't shown that yet

 

I can't believe the amount of no marks giving it to Billy on here hilarious agree with David though that would be a decent fight.

 

David I see it everyday, the very top people in the sport in England have made fantastic comments regarding Lewis, nobody in Scotland would beat him at Lightweight its very simple, within 12 months given the opportunity Lewis will become the British or Commonwealth Champion.
The first time Willie Limmond seen Lewis he said he's the real deal!

 

I speak with a University proffeser who works with athletes and he says a boxer wouldn't be fully developed until 24-27 years old.
Bottom line is Lewis is already super strong and has I know and people keep saying when he hit his proper strength he will be a real handful

 

Then he should step up competition, because with this kinda opposition you won't earn a shot. I saw he's fighting a top 400 opponent next, which is a step in that direction, but he's going to move up to top 100 opponents to even have a chance on a British titleshot.

 

Billy everyone peaks at different times when it comes to boxing it seems, look at Carl froch his best times athletically came in his last two years as a pro. That was his speed, stamina and strength, whereas someone like Appleby hit there peak early . All to do with styles I would say.

As for brophy it's all to win and nothing to lose, he gets knocked out everyone expected it he puts up a good fight or wins and the sky is the limit. Hopefully you nail a game plan and David can pull this off. I can't agree with you on records as tobias Webb has been his only half decent opponent and David got hurt in that fight but styles make fights and hopefully he is safe at the end no matter what the outcome.

Lewis Ritson- billy will always back his man that's what trainers do. Why not put him in with someone like Andrei podosovs? he would take that fight in a heartbeat and we both know it. Andrew Mackey is another option.

 

Thats totally different to what you said though. You said man strength. He will already have that naturally.. That's not saying you can't develop more power through technique and power training. As Jamie said everyone will peak differently due to training outcomes. I know people older than 50 still improving beating their own weightlifting personal bests. As for Lewis you need to start moving him. I think Jordan would be a great test but if you think he's beyond it go for the likes of Craig Evans, Maxi Hughes or Gary Buckland you have also got Ohara Davies, Tommy Coyle and Luke Campbell all on their way through. .I can only look at who he's fighting and after 8 fights it's a terrible opponent. You used to say things about Ronnie but after 7 fights he had fought undefeated Tommy Edwards, Maxi Hughes and Ryan Walsh with basically no amateur experience..

 

I had to chuckle this morning after watching James Degale's latest IFL TV interview.

He was asked what he thought of the Groves vs Brophy fight. He said he didn't even know who Brophy was.

Sorry Billy, you've achieved a lot in the sport with Ricky, but to claim Brophy will be World Champion may be a bit too early. I wouldn't like to imagine what James does to Brophy in a 12 rounder.

 

we were offered o'hara davis but two weeks notice and we were fighting on a lock stock show the same night, although i did say to matchroom we'd gladly fight him given proper notice over 10 or 12 rounds with a title on the line, ive even said wed gladly fight the winner of scott v sean in a voulantary.
Lewis's opponent is Hungarys No1 Lightweight hardly a terrible opponent.
With respect to Jordan, Tommy wouldn't take the fight and id understand why. Get Ronnie to step up and fight him can't see that happening can you, he beat Jordan so it would make for a better fight for as long as it lasts.

 

Excuse me ive never once said Brophy would ever become a world champion, however he is more than good enough to fight for and win domestic titles
