Yes, there are valid excuses like when you eat a chicken while not knowing i
Yeah. I dislike these kind of fights. I thought oquendo retired last year.

Oquendo injured his shoulder last year. From memory that's how Browne landed his shot against Chagaev. Have seen no mention anywhere of Oquendo having retired.

He like Francisco Vargas didn't knowingly take them and it was found he gained no competitive edge as like Vargas he tested clean 6 days beforehand.

    In summary the WBA have:

Modified their prior decision regarding Lucas Browne.

Allowed Browne to retain his top 5 WBA rating.

Determined it is unlikely Browne intentionally or voluntarily consumed the Clenbuterol in a single, small dose in the days leading up to the bout.

Determined Browne would not have gained any advantage from the Clenbuterol consumed.

Reiterated the doubts about drugs and drug testing in Russia.

Determined the title is now vacant.

Determined that within 120 days Browne will fight Oquendo for the vacant title.

If for any reason Oquendo is unable to fight Browne, Browne will instead fight the leading, available contender for the vacant title.

Good for this fight to take place. Clears a backlog of mess once and for all. Browne most likely was set up and he deserves a chance to progress or take a fall on his boxing merits rather than dubious events. Never should have had a title fight take place in that place. Wba brought the mess on themselves.
