What a fight!Both fighters traded bombs for 9 rounds until Curry knocked Brooks out in the 9th.Funny thing is there is a limited amount of footage on Brooks who fought 60 times.Andthe only footage of Brooks that I've seen is him in losing efforts.Would love to have seen more of Monroe Brooks-like how he goes to the body.
Great fight...a skilled bomb-fest. Brooks probably should've tried to set up more of his big shots rather than so frequently swinging for the fences.
That was some fight indeed, two guys who hated each other with a passion swinging for the fences right from the start, doesn`t get much better than that for an action fight. Too bad either man isn`t around today, they sure would make things a little more interesting in the jr.welterweight/welterweight divisions.
I followed the build-up to that fight via the Ft. Worth paper. I believe it was on some version of TV. They hated each other.
