my trianer was telling me about his philospiphires today at the gym saying like going from a standstill to a sprint is better than jogging then sprinting. As we was discussing turns of pace. he told me to check out some more has anyone got any more or a link to a website
ask your trainer if candle punch training would be advantageous in boxing and then let me know here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lfgx7qBFjM
my coach idolizes the guy. personally, i'm not his biggest fan. all of his philosophies came from other places, he didn't fight, refused to spar with his student who was a professional fighter, a lot of the stories of his "fights" are completely made up bs, and i think he's kinda overrated. I don't hate the guy. i respect him for being one of the best martial arts actors of all time, for working tirelessly on his physique (even if he did use roids), and for giving asians a sense of pride in themselves. standstill to a sprint will improve your start speed on your footwork. jog sprint jog sprint will do more to improve your conditioning, via active rest.
I love bruce lee. Love his films like watching documentries on him ect ect. However he was what he was no more. I believe he could fight very well but he was an actor and a philosiphor. I dont believe he was any where near the greatest martial artist ever. However i do think physically and training wise he was up there with the greatest. What he wasnt was a boxer. Any back to the point i like bruce lees philosophy you should look into it more not just his but other fighting philosophy as well ( i havnt yet but intend to). What he wasnt though was a boxer.

I am a big fan of Bruce Lee, my dad is an even bigger fan. I'm sure you can pick up a documentary on him for less than a fiver.

My trainer has stuck up motivational messages all over the changing room. One is "Skill without fitness is a waste of time"
