"Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.
Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend"

"When you're talking about fighting, as it is, with no rules, well then, baby you'd better train every part of your body!"

"Boards don't hit back" (or in our case punchbags lol)

"Forget about winning and losing; forget about pride and pain. Let your opponent graze your skin and you smash into his flesh; let him smash into your flesh and you fracture his bones; let him fracture your bones and you take his life. Do not be concerned with escaping safely — lay your life before him."

poorly translated taoism which he learned from his taoist wingchun teacher (who learned from a taoist monk) in china

now all the ideas are accredited to him just because he was a movie star and hollywood is ignorant.

You think Lao Tzu got it from thin air? Every one is influenced by someone doesnt mean its ripped off. Yes your right though hollywood is very ignorant especially when it comes to the far east.

Any extensive study of Lee's philosophical outlook will yield the possibility of learning something. One thing I learned from my search is that Lee was full of ****. He read widely on a lot of things but his understanding of them was very shallow and melodramatic. He enjoyed hearing himself talk and some lost souls enjoyed listening. Read some of the books out there that have his quotes and you may realize this. He was only 32 at the time of his death and I must remind myself that he may have matured and found his way in time. However, since that was not the case I can only say he was affected and weak intellectually and void of any wisdom. No doubt this is at least partially caused by the massive fame he acquired at a young age. When the world overwhelms the young with these things it is easy to be sidetracked by it all.

I agree that he liked to hear himself speak but to say he was "weak intellectually" and "void of any wisdom" is ridiculous. He was a smart dude and really applied himself to his art & life, he used his smarts to improve both. Im sorry but stupid people dont usually enjoy the kind of success he did.
