Apparently Team Pavlik is steadily moving toward a 10 rounder on May 7th. Top Rank's Hall of Fame matchmaker Bruce Trampler will travel to Youngstown to visit Kelly next week.

He probably wants to see KP in person, and watch a work out or two. From there they will probably make some decisions about the weight, and an appropriate opponent.

Not sure I can post the link, but the info is part of a larger article about the May 7th Pac/Mosely card. It's on the site where Fans are in the House.

Hey Uncle -- what do ya think? 168 or 175? Credible opponent, or some bag lady? What do your instincts tell you?

I can't care about Pavlik unless it's a meaningful fight. And with everyone that's gone on, it could go so wrong for him.

Trampler will meet with Pavlik on Tuesday. The weight for KP's return will be 168, or a catchweight slightly above that.

Hmm if pavlik is going to compete at 168 it might be interesting to see him fight vs the supersix guys. Pavlik vs bute or froch is what I would like to see.

Miranda/St Juste was in trouble over Miranda's weight issues. Now Box Rec lists St Juste/TBA. The Miranda/St Juste fight was suppose to be a WBO title eliminator.

Pavlik/St Juste for a shot at Stieglitz would be a smart move. I believe Pavlik would beat both guys. With Arum's move to Showtime, Pavlik is now a Showtime fighter. Bute is now a Showtime fighter. We'd have all 4 major titles, and all the top super middleweights associated with Showtime/CBS.

Yes, and right now Pavlik is the right man for the job. KP is in a position where a win over Stieglitz would be considered a good win due to the present circumstances.

I believe either Froch or Ward will end up with the WBA and WBC titles. Bute enters the scene with the IBF title. Pavlik enters the scene with the rust knocked off, the WBO title, and fully acclimated to the new weight.

    In no particular order:

    Froch
    Ward
    Kessler
    Dirrell
    Pavlik
    Abraham
    Johnson

    Green?

    Taylor?

    Bika
    Andrade

All 11 fighters available to Showtime/CBS, and all 4 major title in play!!!!

this will be an important move. i think he needs more than a glorified sparring session but at the same time, he's probably not ready for the big boys at 168.

live but not overly dangerous will be a good way to judge where he's at. if doesnt look good against someone like that, then you'll know there is a lot of work to be done.
