I saw this whilst looking at Cowdell/Nelson. Just shows Lawless could show W*rren a thing or two about mismatches... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDbwVmu7nXA&feature=related[/ame]
That fight saw Frank wheeled out onto the sofa at TV-AM early in the following week to tell Nick Owen & Anne Diamond that "I don't get no orgee-asms off being hit". :?atsch EDIT : A few years later there was a World in Action programme investigating boxing mismatches. This bout came up and they went to the States to interview Chuck. Chuck said that he'd basically retired but they (Astaire/Duff/Lawless) offered him a 2 week holiday in Marbella and he'd have to box. He didn't know that he was facing Bruno until he arrived in Spain and saw the posters.
Maybe it wasn't Marbella, but it was Chuck who got the holiday. 2 weeks in Cannes is probably better than 2 weeks in Marbella as well. EDIT : Chuck didn't look too bad until Frank punched him. Probably good for a top 10 spot nowadays.
Watched that in my local on prime time terrestrial TV. Worth remembering it wasn't all Benn-Eubank on ITV back then...;-)
Chuck had bigger tits than my Mrs, having said that it was a peachy left hand that stopped him...he was in significant distress
It's the sort of fight that Maloney was putting on regularly a couple of years ago. ''When we bring these guys over, how can we be expected to know how good they are?'' A quick look at Boxrec ought to be able to tell you that a man who's never beaten an opponent who has actually won a fight should be in there with an Olympic medallist. No wonder they **** themselves as soon as a jab is flicked out and decide to have a nap.
