What if Bruno had gone to the states early in his career maybe after the jumbo Cummings fight? .people at the time talked about this could this have loosened him up made him more fluid? What would Stewart or Eddie futch have done with him ?maybe more sparing less weights different methods.frank had a great jab a real weapon and big power what else could have they done with him?
The people who managed and trained Frank Bruno made the most of him. His problem wasn't especially technical. It was mental. Terry Lawless, Micky Duff, George Francis, Jimmy Tibbs etc. .... those guys produced/promoted/trained/managed plenty of champions. Bruno had a good team.
Maybe it solves a problem. But it definately creates another---he was used to fighting in his backyard and holding all the cards. When he took his act on the road he sure didn't do very well. Fighting and being based in America means he fights a better grade of competition and he does not have the home crowd. To me, he just cannot afford those subtractions to his game. George Francis always had him in top shape. It wasn't as if Bruno was a guy coming in way overweight or anything. Actually I'm not certain top shelf sparring may have helped him either--maybe he gets handled by somebody or lets say easily solved. Then a new set of problems exist going into a fight.
