Brutally hard fought fights with only one reasonable result on the cards?

The FOTC discussion got me thinking of this. What are the fights through history that were very hard fought and took something permanently out of both fighters, but where you hink there's only one reasonable result in the scoring?

Morales-Pacquiao 1 comes to mind, alrhough it didn’t take anything of Pacquiao in the long run. It took something out of Morales though, who was probably already feeling the effects of all those tough bouts.

Probably doesn't quite fit but Martinez vs Pavlik was an entertaining bout that I have scored the exact same every time through

Marquez Vasquez springs to mind. Defined both careers but took its toll as well.

Mike Tyson vs Razor Ruddock II was a brutal fight that somehow lasted the full 12 rounds. Score wise,Tyson was always going to be ahead, scoring two knockdowns as well as getting the best of most of the exchanges but it was surprisingly hard fought throughout with Ruddock landing his ‘Smash’ left hook/uppercut again and again and stopping Tyson in his tracks just as you thought that Tyson was going to overwhelm him. I think Tyson was intent to show, at least initially, in the bout that his chin was strong enough to take Ruddock punching power and it made for a brutal draining slugging match that I think took a lot out of both, especially Ruddock.

The only one which went to the cards there could definitely have gone either way. Not reallt controversial to call that for either guy.

Don't think Morales took much damage in that one. Every fight of the Barrera trilogy was probably more punishing for him. It of course added a bit to the accumulation, but I wouldn't call it a brutally punishing fight for Morales.

It definitely took a lot out of Ruddock, but harder to say with Tyson since it was his last before prison.

My first thought was Holy-Bowe 1. Bowe was probably never that good again, but his life style seemed to have played the larger part in that.

Completely misread the thread - thought it referred to a fight where it took something out of both fighters. Sorry about that
