This! I see a lot of potential in Jennings not sure he can beat wlad now but in 2 years time he will be the man. Don't know if he puts good show and gets ko'd would it be good for him in future! (lack of motivation ect.)

Can't believe some people are defending Jennings as a choice of opponent for THE heavyweight champ. Get ****ing real.

Wlad is taking his fans for a ride, but they will swallow his **** all day long.

People don't even know this anymore today. Let me spell this out for the numbnuts: Patterson - in the supposedly "good old times" - defended his belt against a guy with ZERO fights. Zilch.

Oh yea, the good old times. When the HW division was stacked with experienced talent :nut

Just had a quick glance at the boxrec top20

Povetkin, doesnt seem to want to fight Wlad.
    Pulev is fighting Adamek
Haye doesnt really merit a rematch
Banks is his coach & is fighting Mitchell
    Thompson is fighting Price.
    Arreola is fighting Stiverne
Glazkov is fighting OG Malik Scott

The only guys who are available & willing are Fury, Helenius, Pianeta & Boystov. I dont think Jennings is significantly worse than any of them, he's clearly much better than Mormeck or Wach.

No source mate, but he's pulled out twice before & Im not convinced he wants the fight.

I've not seen anything recently to make me think otherwise.

Why would Wlad be stripped if Povektin ducked out? They both signed a contract 2 years ago to fight after the Haye and Chag fights. Wlad is refusing to honour that agrement. Not 1 source has reported that Povektin doesn't want the fight.

:blood When did I suggest he would? Are you arguing with yourself?

Povetkin has had 3 fights since Chaggy, so has Wlad. The WBA seem quite happy to have multiple champions to generate multiple santioning fees.

I havent read anything from Povetkin & his team saying they are desperate to make the fight happen. Given his past aversion to fighing Wlad until I see otherwise I'm gonna assume they arent to keen on making it happen.

The WBA has instructed Klitschko Management Group and Sauerland Event,
promoters of WBA super champion Wladimir Klitschko and WBA regular
champion Alexander Povetkin respectively, to negotiate a heavyweight
championship fight between the two boxers. Prior to the 2011 fight
between Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye, the WBA ruled that the
winner would have to face the winner of Povetkin vs. Ruslan Chagaev
within 18 months. Povetkin defeated Chagaev on August 27, 2011, so
Klitschko vs. Povetkin should, according to the WBA, take place before
February 26, 2013. On behalf of Povetkin, Kalle Sauerland said, “We
are very excited that Povetkin will be Wladimir Klitschko's next
opponent. We consider Klitschko to be a great champion but we also
consider Povetkin to be a very serious challenger. A fight between two
Olympic champions is always something special and one that will turn
out to be a real treat for boxing fans all over the world.” Chris
Meyer, Sauerland's Managing Director, added: “We have a four-week
period to negotiate terms on the fight and will be in contact with the
Klitschko management later on today. We worked together for many
fights as co-promoters of the Klitschkos. Therefore I am convinced
that we will have a professional dialogue. However, if we should not
be able to reach a voluntary agreement we are prepared to enter a
    purse bid.”

Boente said Klitschko (59-3, 51 KOs) plans to fight in early April in
what would be his 14th title defense, but did not commit him to facing
Povetkin (25-0, 17 KOs), although he didn’t seem particularly
concerned about the fight possibly being mandated next.

povetkin is not a true champion, he’s the same [as everyone else], a
normal contender. We will not allow anyone to force us to do
    anything.”—Klitschko’s manager Bernd Boente.

We've been down this road before, twice, and what happened both times?

Talk is cheap. I hope they do fight but I wouldnt be at all surprised if it doesnt happen.

Atlas stopped the fight from happening before and he is now sacked. Its clear Wlad doesn't want it , like he didn't want Chisora. Same styles, only AP is better. Its a great fight, Povektin is a challenge. Ive been watching him since 07 and he wont be a pushover like most people think. K2 know this also and is why they wont take the risk. Huck was a mistake that wont happen again.

Wlad's tried twice before & been let down twice.

He didnt want Chisora so much he only signed to fight him twice. Impressive.

    Say what?

So they've been down this road twice before, back when Povetkin looked far more impressive. However, after seeing Povetkin get his ass kicked by Huck K2 are suddenly terrified to make the fight. Mmmmm ok then.

    Huck a G.

You wont find many people more critical of K2 than I am on ESB. The fact I'm defending them in this thread says a lot about your posts/trolling. I'm outta this thread :hi:
