Dinovelvet will explain it for you. :D

    Just remember,

Frazier did better against Ali than against Foreman.

Cotto did better against Floyd than against Pac.

Hatton did better against Floyd than against Pac.

Taylor did better against BHop than against Pavlik.

I could go on, the old cliche about styles and fights....

Hiding between double defense for 12 rounds, being fast, not fighting back. Made him get less punishment.

because Povetkin tried to win, Jennings was there to not get knocked out and steal a couple of rounds at best

    At least somebody gets it.

If Povetkin was in the ring that night , Wlad would have been KTFO.

Wlad actually had to move that night instead of resting down on Jennings back and spinal cord.

Thus his work rate , power and over all effectiveness was reduced. So reduced that he looked ordinary against a security guard/boxer.
In reality his real self and abilities were exposed.

Povetkin was trying to bull rush Wlad throughout the match, and absorbing less damage, Jennings was not. Thus it gave the appearance that Jennings was absorbing less damage, when in reality he was getting outboxed just as Povetkin was.

Wlad was allowed to take his jab-n-grab style to a new low for the Povetkin fight, fouling Povetkin incessantly in a terrible performance with no reprisal from the referee. In the Jennings fight, Wlad wasn't given that level of preferential treatment. Jennings also was more defensive in nature than Povetkin.

Its because Jennings came to survive and not win, and Wlad usually won't put himself in harm's way trying to pursue a knockout and is more than willing to outpoint his opponent to get the win.

Countless warnings and finally a point deduction for excessive holding.

Against a novice who was new to boxing:tired
