aerola suffered a broken nose against berame stiverne....and still has weight issues....is bryant jennings ready for a gate keeper like chris areola(who i personlly feel is shott....that was a horrible beating areala took after stiverne broke his nose in the 4th rd....if your russell peltz and main events jennings team would you take jennings to the stapes centre to fight the faded areola...????
Keep in mind that, even after breaking his nose very early in the fight, Arreola still went the distance and had his moments despite barely being able to breathe. I'm not so sure that I'd want my fighter jumping from Bowie Tupou to a guy with that kind of grit and so much to lose.
To early to say Arreola is shot. He looked no different in his fight with Stiverne than any other fight he has been in. Arreola is a name fighter and it's known now that Arreola is not the fighter many hoped he would be, he simply has never beaten anyone who you could call a serious contender. So he will become a target for many up and coming fighters who will see him as a stepping stone to getting a title shot. So yes I think Jennings and many others will be looking to fight Arreola, he brings name recognition with little risk. I'd like to see Wilder fight Arreola. Arreola would be durable enough to last a few rounds yet defensively open enough and crude enough to allow Wilder to land his big shots.
First Jennings has to get past Fedosov, and concidering American HW prospects records against eastern Europeans of the last decade that certainly isn't a given. A fight with Chris would be a significant step up after that, and I don't think the risk/reward part is in balance for that one.
arreola is a real fighter.so much pride.they dont make to many like arreola. jennings is no punk but could he handle the preasure chris would put on him? would jennings fold.i think its an interesting fight.
He's shot like Tony Thompson was shot ... as in, he has a shot. Jennings needs to stay on the pace he is on right now, carefully selected guys who look good on the resume but aren't true A-listers. No hurry for him. I was very impressed with his most recent win.
I agree.... I think he needs to take it slow and steady. His meteoric rise over the last yr has been far too quick for an unheraled prospect. I don't think he should fight backwards, like down to Wilders level, but maintaining his current level for a few fights would be smart. Let him beat a Witherspoon then test him in the top 20 against Banks or Boystov.:think
Jennings is ready for the best. He needs to try to get a title shot ASAP. As far as Stiverne goes I expect Vitali to duck him and retire. But if Vitali does fight him I think Stiverne give Vitali his first real KO. ANd then Wlad would have to face him to get his brothers belt. Stiverne is a very risky fight for Wlad with that weak chin of his. Stiverne hits hard as hell. Stiverne KO's Pulev as well.
From Fedosov???? Come on.....I know your distaste for Eastern Bloc fighters, but Boystov has beaten Guinn, Bydenko, and Pala. 3 very solid fighters on the fringe of contention. Equal to at least Fedosov and Tupou. Boystov....I personally dislike him, and I know he'll never be a threat to a Klitschko, but I think he could spell trouble for the next group of titlists when the K2 are gone. I could see Boystov being one of a half dozen fighters holding the belts in the 3-4 yrs after the K2 are gone.:think
Stop wasting your time he doesnt even watch these guys fighting. He thought Kovalev got his ass beat by Jennings.:rofl
Arreola is a dangerous fight for Jennings. Prime Arreola is dangerous for everybody except the Top 10 guys, because of all the things he brings to the table especially his cheen. But if we assume that Arreola is past his best, then it's more like a 50/50, cause Jennings would land alot of right hands. It's a sensible risk for both guys though. The winner is in position for a title shot against Wlad in the USA for better than decent money. Both guys need a win vrs. a credible guy to break through as a serious contender.
I might pick Arreola in this one. He may be faded, but he still does what he does. Pressures hard and throws punches. And I believe Stiverne on that night had power and IQ that I don't think Jennings has at this point.
I did watch the fight crack head. SO I said the wrong name there all stiffs to me. Jennings won just like I said he would. Fedosov and Kovalev both = Euro stiffs. You guys want me to come in here and brag how good White fighters from Europe is and bash US and UK fighters like you all. I call it like I see it.
