 That was basically 12 rounds of sparring, and then Rivas went ham on Jennings.

Holy ****ing **** that was such a dull affair, then Rivas lived up to his name and went Kaboom, as corny as that is

It really puts Ortiz thin resume under more scrutiny

Little nugget Rivas spars with Alvarez all the time btw. Says Alvarez outboxes him though he hits harder.

True, which is why 1 fight and one performance is never enough to gauge a fighters true standing. Everyone rated Jennings after the loss to Wlad, one performance and he was suddenly regarded as one of the top guys in the division until he ran into Ortiz. Since the Wlad fight he's done nothing and it puts Jennings true ability into perspective which leaves Ortiz's resume looking very thin indeed. How good is Ortiz really?

OMFG, Rivas stopped Jennings and the only thing some people have to think about is how the fight is affecting Luis Ortiz' resume ffs. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA epic BrightonBumber and the other guy, you guys deserving some big credit for being sooo damn , let's call it "creative"....lmao

Yes it really does, Ortiz is so overhyped it's painful.

It is funny though, not too many mentions of this fight and result in the forum, I'm not surprised considering a little 6 foot flat heavyweight just rinsed Ortiz' best win.

How so? Rivas is legit and Jennings always was considered to be a B level contender.
Ortiz still had an easier time than Rivas and Wlad. It's a solid W on his resume.

Yes, Ortiz's resume is thin, but this fight takes nothing away from it.

And you know what the irony is? Ortiz is still the best name on WIlder's resume. Fighters loose, but boxing fans somehow can't comprehend this fact.

Well of course it says something about Ortiz, his best win is STILL Jennings all these years later.

    It's all about levels.

Ortiz' resume is thinner than Tyson Fury hair.

Naaaaah, not ironic, just shows what a shower of turd Wilder is also, Wilder got schooled by a man who retired, ate, drank and snorted his way through most of the past few years.

Ortiz and Wilder are both bang average.

I was at the Turning Stone for the fights last night (as I always am when cards make there way here. Also very fortunate to have the HOF stones throw away from me). Anyways, good action last night, Shakur continues to move forward and Oscar Rivas showed beast mode. Jennings is a mid tier heavy who is gate keeper status now. I was ringside for Jennings vs Ortíz at turning stone few years back. Was a brutal KO

This is showing why you DKSAB. You guys are thinking : thin resume = average fighter.

One of them is 95% about power and nothing else, has no boxing skills, footwork or anything.

The other one is a guy who was promoted badly and wasted his prime fighting bums but obviously is a hell of a fighter with power, strong amateur background and unreal boxing skills.

Ortiz with a better promoter behind them, turning pro a few years earlier would rule the division for sure. He is an insane talent.

Ortiz is technically combined with the rest (power, movement, ring iq) the best HW out there and there is not much room to debate about the fact. But obviously he isn't the BEST HW out there as he is getting older now and wasted his prime with fighting bums.
