Good fight. I think Jennings should win this. Interesting is that Rivas will face Maldonado on December 1st. So everyone expecting Rivas to win comfortably there?

I'm kind of irrationally excited for this despite it leaving the winner probably no closer to ever accomplishing diddly squat in the division. (Jennings because he's too small and merely "good", when his size would necessitate being great if he wanted to rise above the giants; Rivas because of frittering away his prime with inactivity and low opposition quality until now, compound by eye injuries)

Maldonado is a Brazilian heavyweight pushing 40 taking his first step up ever in a 16 year pro campaign. I am expecting Rivas to get rid of him in under three minutes.

I have to admit i have absolutely no idea about Maldonado apart from the common stats and i expect a clear win for Rivas too from what i've read / saw but still not customary at all to make two bigger fights for one fighter within six or seven weeks?!
I mean the Maldonado fight is on the Stevenson/Gvozdyk undercard and the Jennings bout is the main fight at an ESPN+ show.

But definitely good to see Rivas staying busy as he wasted year for year in the past as you mentioned above. He is talented. Maybe he can bring something to the division. Jennings is by far his best oppnent and he already is 31 lol being a pro for about 10 years. Very very odd.

Did he change promoter or something? Four fights within 9 months is definitely above his average.

Great fight, I have no idea who to pick... Rivas has a decent background resume so he might edge it if Jennings is not in a really good shape.

Maldanado has a 26 wins with 25 wins by KO type of record in the pro ring. He has been pro since 2002 but had extensive breaks from time to time. Maldanado had a amateur boxing experience and he had a MMA career plus he has black belt in carate. Back in 1998 he beat Marco dos Santos to win Brazil Nationals in the amateur boxing.

None of this is relevant info, really. All we need to know is "Brazilian heavyweight facing his first live body" ergo, he's getting KTFO early. That his record is padded to hell goes without saying.

A heavyweight boxer from Brazil, let alone one this old, is never a real threat. If for some reason he is even remotely competitive with Rivas, or lasts more than a couple of rounds (let alone going the distance), it means that Rivas' prime has eroded completely and/or that his eye complications are too severe for him to likely be able to get past the Jennings test, never mind actually (finally) contend.

Finally good to see Rivas step up, he's been a pro about 10 years and fought nobody.

Should be a good fight Rivas is pretty quick and has a decent punch on him, Jennings should win, though I think Rivas might have a few moments, if Dimitrenko can drop Jennings maybe Rivas can make it interesting.

Actually, I think they might put Andy Ruiz Jr in the place of Rivas if he will lose to Maldanado.

Always a possibility I guess but looking at his record he's padded his record with a bunch of nobodies, guys with literally 0 wins or 1 win make up 20 of his 26 wins.
