I know it gets boring moaning about it but sometimes you just gotta laugh.

I'm sure some of you have seen this video, if you ain't watch it. Calzaghe had some bizarre stoppages in his career .

Can you find or remember some great British Stoppages?. Laughable ones to downright disgraceful.

Bellew's "stoppage" of McKenzie was particularly disgraceful. The ref decided his walk towards Ovril was a bit too menacing and decided to step in before he even landed a punch on him.

Bellew did land a punch on McKenzie as he was running in as I recall. Was bull**** though.

Just like the vast majority of stoppages in British rings I'm afraid

Do you think the Watson and McClellan fights cast a shadow over how fights are refereed nowadays?

Yeah it's something ref's are brief'd on and often scared of happening in there bouts. I remember Hines let a fight go on to long and the trainer slapped at his hand while kid lay on floor needing oxygen.

The problem is i personally believe there overworked on shows, they often stop fights early cos there tired or disinterested in a one sided fight. The problem is they stop that fighter earning ££ for a month or so.

I don't wanna see anyone get hurt but they take it to silly levels. One punch and there in waving it off at times.

Yeah, like just because a guy is getting outclassed doesn't mean he's gonna lose the whole thing. How many great fights would've been stopped in the past if they were held now in UK?

Big problem is the ref is employed by the promoter, this could sway a way of rationale thought!

Besides in time it'll be just another TKO on Boxrec.

As boxing fans we should NEVER moan about an early stoppage. Lest we forget Messrs Stone, Goult and Young Ali.

It is far better for all concerned (money in rematches) that referees potentially stop bouts a couple of punches too soon, rather than one punch too late.

There is nothing more dangerous in this sport, than a brave referee.

Yep i totally agree but i do feel the ref's at times are making decisions based on not what's happening in ring. I've sat ringside at fights and seen people baffled by why the fights been stopped.

It's a fine line but sometimes that line's not even touched.
