You don't automatically get rounds just for being the aggressor. You have to make contact.

 

You have to land punches, as ugly as it was Lopez couldn't adapt and he couldn't "TAKEOVER" the fight. Ortiz got robbed tonite.

 

A self proclaim p4p who can't even ctr of the ring to land a punch. You can't chase someone all night and win either.

 

It doesn't matter whether you are the champion or challenger. Fights are scored on a RBR basis in a vacuum.

 

The champ does not get a handicap when it comes to scoring.
The rules are set and clear.

Teo was awful, and in the first half of the fight was made to look an absolute fool.

I have never seen a man walk to the corner, do the "c'mon!" motion, only to start getting his own ass beat. How you set traps and end up trapped yourself? Never read that chapter in the Art of War!

That said Ortiz fought extremely negatively in the back half of the fight, especially the last three rounds, and if he didn't think that Lopez was up five rounds on the scorecards before the fight even began then he's a fool who deserved to lose. (I also hate his style and would hate to see it rewarded with a world title but that is neither here nor there).

 

Lopez looked LOST, Ortiz was controlling the fight.
