Yikes. I thought Itauma was invictus. He has a defeat. I'll look for it and watch it.

He was upset just in January, by the very guy making his UK return in the main event. :deal:

Chintzy ruling in the final round there, seemed more like a slip with Graidia's hand grazing the canvas as they stepped together and both slapped with hooks and missed or hit arm (the commentators agree) but, academic really. Itauma should take a wide points victory, maybe a round shy of a shutout; that extra 10-8 swing isn't really affecting the outcome.

oooops... just watched his defeat. China chin plus heart issues.... I better stop expecting big things from Itauna. That's not going to happen.

It explains why he chose a 8% KO ratio guy today too.

But it's a pity. At first glance Itauma looks like a very good fighter, I got tricked.

A very nasty upset. The kind of upset that totally destroys any kind of hype... even a full career if your are not careful. It exposed tons of things that Itauma was hiding.

I like Itauma but losing via knockout to this faded version of Maderna is concerning, especially how easy he was easy to hit with the backhand and the manner in which he folded. To be fair, Maderna was a big step up for him. Moses is the much better prospect of the two brothers.

Will need to see how the boy handles shots from some of the heavier-handed cab drivers they put in front of him early on to see if there are warning signs of the chin issues running in the family. :deal:

True but he's a lot slicker and more elusive than his more rigid brother and the reports from his sparring sessions against AJ, Big Joe Joyce, Okolie etc. are glowing. Okolie said he gave him his toughest ever spar when Moses was still in school. Turned up at the gym in his school uniform and bashed Okolie up

And he won the European juniors IIRC via stoppage all in the first round which has never been done before

We now revisit the previous theme of "Brits vs. Nicaraguans in 6-rounders" that Itauma vs. Graidia interrupted. Would've been three consecutive.

    Liver shot knockdown for Garner.

    Few more body swipes, TKO2!

Ryan "Piranha" Garner improves to now 13-0 with 7 kayos.

His pro debut was eight years ago, that's quite a long time for him to still be a prospect with so few bouts or steps up in class. Bunce and Frampton however think he is back on track & showing his original promise and could be world champ. Frampton sparred him several years back and didn't think much of him then but is a believer now.
