If they launch this with "Fury v Bum", that's a huge risk that's bound to backfire. It's a comeback and people will want to see, so it's something any greedy/desparate promoter would be tempted to do. But it's a massive gambling thinking Fury's erratic personality and story is enough to boost him, when he never had a following pre-Wlad. I guess they could build this up with crazy pre-fight madness, with hints that Fury's going to pull some weird stunts on the night. But still .... (and I doubt Warren even thinks as creatively as that, LOL) They eithe match him with someone risky (and last week's presser suggested the opposite) or they should wait for a BJS v GGG or something to launch this. Mike Tyson might have been able to get away with Peter McNeeley in 1995, and some other bums in subsequent years, but it would be insane to think Fury could get away with it.
i am pretty sure the GGG v Canelo fight was PPV on BT but FREE to Boxnation subscribers? if that is the case going forward then what is the problem?...Boxnation costs less than ONE Coffee per week Superb value
I will stick to the cup of coffee as Boxnation provides dreadful value for the UK boxing fan interested in watching fights in UK waking hours.
I am not talking about Fury, i am talking about the bigger picture...if Fury v Joshua ever gets made, BT are now right in their to screen that alongside Sky.Fury will obviously Flop, but with BT behind him and now a PPV Service can fish eyes offer the money to get Whyte to BT for example...Conor Mcgregor is another intresting development will BT put his fights behind PPV now...it sucks for the fans, however this is what "competition does" it drives up the prices, i hear so many stupid people saying "competition keeps sky on it's toes".Just look at the Preimer League and what it has become because of BT getting involved and driving up live tv rights
I was thinking about getting boxnation After getting rid of sky. The tweet the other day with their up coming American fights being a factor but your right, the good fights are all when I'm in bed and I hate watching boxing the next day and don't usually have the time so I guess my mind made up!
No one will mind paying £20 for Golovkin v Saunders but they will bother about paying it for Fury against fighters who are nowhere near world class.
BJ not a PPV fighter nor are the boring Furys. The Wlad stinker will never be forgotten by the PPV mugs
There is a massive difference between what Warren is doing and everybody else . Everybody else gets only revenue from a TV company and not their own channel Everybody else gets revenue from PPV but dont expect a monthy fee from subscribers . Warren is already getting a monthly fee for the fights so he cant ask for more on top !
Sure Fish went on record stating that Boxnation subscribers will never be charged PPV for any fight - when he moves this goalpost then Boxnation is dust. The future is Sky and BT Sport anyway as Boxnation will never be a profitable business due to a tiny subscription base.
You can see from a business point why they r doing it if budget out a fight couple hundred grand and sky make it a million because they will put it on ppv they can't compete for fans just more money Best hope really is super 6 or 8 get all top fighters to enter and get see all best match ups
Would say though don't think fury will do that well on ppv not a fan friendly style and If he is fightin poor opponent s it take great undercard don't think frank stable big enough to do that
UFC PPV in the early hours of the morning is a disaster waiting to happen.. I can't see BT going down that route This all seems to be aimed at Tyson Fury comeback.
