There's no way Stiverne deserves to be mandatory. I have a thread up trying to find out whether he is or not, and if Ortiz Stiverne is the final eliminator, and no one seems to know.

 

He was mandatory again to my knowledge. Povetkin / Stiverne was supposed to determine the mando and that fell through and he got the shot by default. But with the WBC you never know. Maybe Dustin Nichols is coming back?

 

Actually, I found an article in this thread that was helpful. It looks like WBC was not accepting Stiverne s request to be automatic mandatory, and wanted to have a final eliminator with him and Ortiz. Stiverne said he wouldn't take it (chicken ****) and Ortiz was undecided since he's already mandatory in WBA. Presumably, both will be dropped of they refuse the fight. Either way, I'm hopeful there will be a final eliminator. It just should have been forced a LONG time ago. Wilder will get another year without a mandatory at this rate.

Wilder is gonna have some sort of mandatory-free record soon.

 

He's already got the hw record for most consecutive defenses without a clear top 10 hw. Literally, just going off Ring magazine.

Wilder hasn't scheduled a fight yet, calm down pig slop.

 

I'll give Wilder a pass just like I gave Joshua a pass for fighting Martin. Martin, Stiverne, and Wade all suck but they were put into a position that other fighters shouldn't ignore. Unlike GGG detractors I'll be blaming the organization that put stiverne into a mandatory spot like I did when they spoonfed Martin a title. At least Wade wasn't GGGs first mandatory and came in as a mandatory replacement. I've never going to bag on a fighter for taking their mandatories though. It's the only reason fighters like Khurtsidze get their chances.
