Ridiculous posturing by Hearn, maybe a bit of promotion for Buatsi as well. Hearn is in it to make money but his template for fighters is to completely swerve domestic bouts and put his guys in a series of mid match eliminators for world crowns. We have loaded domestic scene and no one is fighting anyone. Not just Hearn’s fault mind

That's the difference between Eddie and Frank.

Eddie can't bring a fighter along the proper way to save his life. Frank overcooks his prospects at times, but he can definitely nurture his talent.

i agree even the people who want to criticise AJ (and theres a lot of them) cant deny at least he was stepping up the level of opponents. Buatsi's opponent level has flatlined and in some cases stepped back. He NEEDS a big domestic name to really make a name for himself especially seeing as a lot of the main guys at world level are both A) very VERY talented and dangerous. B) Not massive names financially Bivol, Smith JR, Beterbiev (with the exception of Canelo of course). Hearn is saving Buatsi IMO in the hope Smith can win a World Title at LHW and then cash in on a manufactured Domestic LHW showdown between Smith and Buatsi

The worst thing is that there is no development to be traced in Buatsi since his debut fight. It's sad to see especially considering that Buatsi has potential.

Yarde has shown that he can come back and improve, I'd back him to beat Buatsi, I think he'd swarm him and Buatsi is hardly a slick operator, his chin and heart would be tested like it's never been tested before.

I think people are over critical with Buasti. I mean a lot of people on this forum picked Bolotniks to beat Buasti pre fight only for them to rubbish Bolotniks quality after Buasti dealt with him easily.

Then they attempt to make a fight against Vlasov but pulls out from injury. Now Hearn makes a big offer for Yarde fight.

Buasti stepped up a level in his last fight and now attempting to be in another big fight.

AJ and Okolie are the off the top of me head that go against that.

Buatsi hasn't faced the best competition but Bolotniks is better than all of Yarde's wins.

It’s sad (but correct in the current climate) when a big fight is rumoured / talked about by a promoter and everyone automatically dismisses it within seconds.

I’d pick Buatsi if it’s announced, he’s got enough to pop to keep Yarde honest and has that Olympian pedigree that means he should be able to outbox him.

I do agree to the point fans have a tendency to be over critical but i dont think thats the case here. In all honesty is a fight against bolotniks a big fight or an indicator of a world class boxer ? Imo no, bolotniks is still the same guy who just got past Patrick Mendy by MD and if wasnt for the fact he beat Burton many UK fans wouldnt know him (and n all honesty Burton has been blow hot and cold over last few years). That said as we know in boxing you are only as good as your last fight (case in point being Yarde). If Buatsi does (and its a big if IMHO) and comes through it then you have to give him credit but whilst fans may be over critical, we can only judge the evidence provided and it doesnt show a world class fighter.

AJ was an Olympian, and the other guy made improvements under Shane.
