Listening to the Eddie Hearn interview we now know Buatsi will be topping the Manchester bill providing Saturday night goes as planned, no injuries etc.

Who’s everyone expecting Buatsi to face?

If he's headlining his own show, we should be expecting a step up in competition. I'd like to see him in against Chilemba. I think somebody like Fornling or Boesel would be more realistic though.

Fornling or boesel would be excellent choices!

Fornling is very very beatable and holds the ibo title so this looks likely I’d say

Boesel is a tough fight for buatsi and he seems happy defending the ebu in Germany

Murat, mikalkin and chilemba would also be good although it kind of needs to be for some kind of title for it to headline imo so these three wouldn’t qualify.

I think Burton is a strong possibility too. Would prefer Boesel for the European, he’s beatable. Don’t think Matchroom give much thought to the IBO so I can’t see Fornling. Murat has got a fight scheduled 6th July according to boxrec but it’s in Hamburg.

Won't happen but Callum Johnson would do nicely.

I’ve heard it’s Boesel which is a big step up only 4 weeks after this fight. But could also see it being Burton then Boesel later in the year.

Probably looking at yarde stepping up and thought he needs to hold a good belt. If yarde gets beat as expected. The yarde v buatsi for British and European belts would be a natural. If yarde wins, then buatsi isn't too far away from the next step.

It could go terribly wrong though. We have had a few brits recently that couldn't make the step up to European level. I personally think buatsi will be able to do it.

I like the buatsi vs boesel fight, 50/50 fight right there

Not interested in burton, he’s talked big but not fought anyone with a pulse in ages

Burton shat it and went off to MTK. The rumour is hes fighting Boesel. EBU ordered Boesel vs Michalkin, but Michalkin is scheduled to appear on that same card as Murat, so I assume hes stepped aside and will fight the winner. Would be a great pair of progression fights, Boesel then Michalkin, before heading into a final eliminator for Buatsi.

Burton called out both Buatsi and Yarde and cried when neither Warren or Hearn would give him a big purse for it.

I’ve been saying that Burton is not a serious fighter for ages.

The geezer has not even had one half decent fight since getting banjoed by Buglioni years ago now.

I think I read that he’s now even left Hearn... what a joker he is. He should be scratched from the list that Yarde’s haters/reasonable critics use against him as having should have faced.

His opponent has been announced and it is Marco Antonio Periban (25-4-1)

He is listed as a SMW on boxrec- he lost a UD to Avni Yildrim in his last fight

    http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/470119

It was announced by Buatsi himself on Behind the gloves today...

Fair play to Buatsi for fighting Periban not once but twice! And in the space of 6 weeks. Could become one of the great rivalries.

Trying to think is there any old worn big name fighters around to pad his record. Hearn loves a finished name
