Crawford is the top dog and can choose whoever he wants to face next. Boots needs to earn his spot to challenge Crawford and I think a good start would be to face Stanionis or Rocha. Stanionis deserves to have a crack at Crawford but I wouldn't mind see Boots vs Stanionis first. Winner of that fight can face Crawford.
If that's the case then I don't see why they wouldn't make this fight happen then. Crawford and Boots will most likely face each other eventually.
Crawford could get motivated to fight Boots if they buy out of his rematch clause give Bud a percentage of the pay per view market.
I think it's the quality of the mando that has Crawford feeling like he doesn't need it right now. I'm sure he'd fight Rocha next no problem, since Rocha is the Mando for the WBO and comes with less risk.
Crawford isn't getting any younger so he's got to fight these guys now that's he'sstill fighting at the highest level in boxing. Otherwise these guys are going to catch him on the downside when's he's slipping.
Crawford will retire if his fire is burnt and it looked for a good while like it was before that Spence payday popped up I think...well I know Fury & Usyk are done with boxing in the same way also. Crawford's body is healthier than them two though he could fight on...but when the fire is gone you need to call it quits.
Charlo may be recovering from his own car wreck after fighting Canelo. If Charlo does come come down after and fights Crawford, i would favor Crawford in a James Toney vs Prince Charles Williams kind of fight. Crawford is our generation version of a switch hitting James Toney. Not always super exciting, but knows how to win at the highest level. Oh, but Crawford don't get fat like Toney.
Don't see where the hype is with Boots Ennis. The guy doesn't have much power, gives up his height and gets hit plenty. Bud will body him.
To be fair fights such as the rematch with Spence and a fight with Jermell Charlo are more lucrative and Bud is now about to turn 36.
