Theoretically Spence would be stronger if the fight occurred at 154 pounds. When Jermaine Taylor fought Pavlik in the rematch, he fought much better. Just that Taylor had success in the first fight and almost koed Pavlik. Whereas Spence was beaten from pillar to post through the entire fight. So yeah should be interesting how things play out in the rematch.
Spence doesn't possess the skills or punch resistance to hang at the elite level against someone with A or B level skills his size who can crack Even a C level guy with B or A level power his size can crack that chin And even worse. He's coming off a biblical ass whooping. Nice guy but another ass whooping and stoppage loss is the last thing he needs next
Shouldn't be sanctioned if Spence agrees to 147 for a payday. Even undrained Spence is still going to lose at 154. Too shotworn. Too much skill deficit. Was a good fight 5 years ago. Like how Pac Mayweather was a better fight 5 years earlier Or if Fury waited another 2 years to fight Usyk it would be duff.
It would've been better had Bud simply KO'ed him early on instead of wanting him to suffer a prolonged beating, but then Spence brought it on himself with all the trash talking he did for years. Also I believe Crawford just got tired of people saying he was dodging the fight and decided to make an example out of Spence. I don't think Spence should even be allowed near Bud again period, not after that horrifying beatdown. I agree with a lot of the pro boxers that have said Spence just didn't look right before the Bud fight and of course the doctor checking in very early on was disconcerning to say the least.
The weight won't matter - Bud is simply a class above. Didn't he land something like 65% of his power punches in the first fight?? Let's say Spence tightens up his defense and brings this down to 50% .. he's still getting whooped.
Doesn't matter what weight. TC beats him handily again, hopefully shutting up the "He was drained!" crowd.
If Spence was actually drained the beating in rematch may actually be worse. Nothing erodes your punch resistance and brain health worse than a concussion/beating while drained
Spence just needs to retire. He’s been struggling to form sentences since the crash. What’s even worse is that he sounded completely punch drunk during the Bud post fight conference. Spence’s health aside, we absolutely do not need more rematches for one sided fights.
